Fortune Favors the Bold
Night was settling over the city and in S.H.I.E.L.D. Central the night shift was just coming on duty and settling in for the night. It looked like it was going to be a rather quiet night. Just like last night, the one before that, the one before that and so on.

The blast took Toni by surprise, but she had already moved into a crouch as Nightingale acted, protecting her face with her gloves.

Still blinded, Jack dropped to the ground when the explosion hit. Heat and fire pelted him as he rolled to the furthest point he could get before a wall stopped him.
