The Battle of Olympus
The trail eventually led the Avengers, Future Foundation and the Defenders to the other dimensional realm that served as the home of the Greek gods. They traveled to a few realms that were home to other gods only to find them destroyed and in ruins. Olympus wasn't in ruins, but it was under attack. Battle raged all around and the skies thundered and were lit up by lightning bolts.

	Mikaboshi wreaked havoc in a form that was not his own. He was a fire-breathing serpentine creature, though still distinguished as a being of black energy and a masked face. He loosed streams of fire upon Olympus. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	Seeing the stream of flame coming, Halbjorn leaps, crossing over it. A bit singed, but avoiding the worst for now, raising the Bloodaxe to swing if he can get close enough. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

He notices Halbjorn's evasion and shifts his serpentine body to evade the strike. Still, the Bloodaxe drew some blood from the God of Evil. He let out a frustrated hissing noise and formed razor-sharp, blade appendages along his body. Mikaboshi now looked like a cross between a dragon and a centipede.

And he slashed at Halbjorn with full intent to cleave the Asgardian in two.

	Halbjorn draws first blood, the God of Evil draws second, returning the favor. The Asgardian takes the hit, bloodied in a gash across his chest, but proving up to the task of going toe to toe. With a snarl, he continues the frontal assault, swinging savagely, helping leave his opponent's back open. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Their combined efforts proved effective. Mikaboshi had focused in on Halbjorn, and he was not quite fully aware of Mac at that moment. With his back exposed, Mac's attack connected. Mikaboshi, in both surprise and by force of the attack, went down.

His immediate reaction was to shift his shape, quickly retreating from both the Asgardian and the Atlantean. His true form appeared some ten or so meters away from the pair so that he could have them both in his sights.

	Halbjorn proves willing to take damage to inflict it, charging on rather than trying to pull up short. He swings at the appendages in front of him, trying to sever the worst of those in his way, taking deep gashes along his sides and a shoulder while he tries to close the gap. Hal continues to make Mac look, strictly relatively, like the kind of guy who doesn't rush headlong, as he does make some attempt to avoid the problem. Still, had had been picking up speed when the lashing-out happened, and hisses as one of the tentacles actually grazes the side of his face while he dodges.

Could have been worse. Could have torn his outfit. That's not a matter of vanity, but the fact that he'd deliberately left sea water in his sealed suit. Going to be his best way of keeping up here.

All of this just goes on in the back of Mac's head as he tries again to fly his way behind while Mikaboshi's busy being hacked at.

	As Halbjorn cut through tendrils, Mikaboshi reared them back and unleashed a blast of dark mystical energy at the Asgardian. As for dealing with the Atlantean, Mikaboshi unleashed a torrent of spear-like tendrils from his backside. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"...oh man. Hide your schoolgirls," Mac muttered as he dodged, then grimaced and did his best to move very quickly and bundle up some of the tendrils. The suit got punctured, and he'd regret that later, but for the moment, at least, he's still at full power and for the moment, at least, he's getting a hold of the things, and hopefully some of the guy's attention and potential mobility.

	Halbjorn is quickly getting beyond debating the point. He swings the axe, splitting the blast before him in the manner the Executioner once did. This leaves him only his shoulder to crash into his opponent with instead of an axe, but at least he's not being knocked around again. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Mac curses a little as the guy retracts out of his grip, looks for wahtever on the scary god's* back or the back of his neck looks least protected, and just throws a punch instead. *It could be argued that, in his own way, Halbjorn is also a scary god. But if there was a competition between the two in the immediate vicinity, Mikaboshi would definitely win. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Halbjorn's tactic was effective. The blast parted, and left an exposed Mikaboshi. He was sent backward, directly into Mac's punch. But also, directly into Mac. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

And whumph goes his Royal Highness the Auxillary Corpsman and delivery boy. His right arm having taken the brunt of the impact, is not feeling good. He'll at least take solace that it was a pretty good punch in its way, and concentrate on getting himself reoriented, trying to continue to flank the guy while a little less vulnerable to sudden impacts and the freaking axe.

	Mikaboshi recovers and moves back enough to avoid most of the attack, but the axe managed a cut across his chest. In response, he sent a mass of tendrils at Halbjorn to stab into him and slow him down while his main body continued to move further back. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Some of the tentacles take an initial cut, while others cut into the dense Asgardian flesh. Finding his progress forward blocked, and not having any single target to cut, he fights through the wounds, grabbing hold of one of the arms with one hand - pulling towards himself as hard as he can to try and bring his foe back within reach, while slashing with the axe in his other hand.

	Mac may have reoriented, but he's still trying to keep Mikaboshi's backing up from being easy either. His left arm's still as good as ever and his tryingi to make the hits where they'll get some of Mikaboshi's attention. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
