Checkmate In Two @ 12:11 am

[info]nextgen_misc:

The building where the Kingpin currently was, was quiet.  But too quiet as to seem like something was off. Most of the lights on the lower floors of the build were out and all of the doors were unlocked. Even more strange was something was jamming communication in the building.

The Calm Before the Fall @ 03:36 pm

[info]touchesthepast:

Leo had gotten a call from Kal about something she wanted him to look at with his talents that was related to all the gang violence going on. He was up to do whatever he could to help end all of it. It was getting really annoying and cutting into his business as a private eye.

He had mostly recovered from when he had help deal with the gang war that had erupted though some spot were still sore.

He also remember that Abigail Hawk the of the PI had also been looking into all of this and gave her a call letting her know what was up and if she had any info or just to help she could come over too.

Kingbreaker- City at War @ 02:16 pm

[info]nextgen_misc:

There is chaos in the street of New York City as a wave of increasing gang violence has swept through the city. The exact groups fighting are unknown at this time but it is believed to be related to the attacks on gangs that has been going on for over a month.

Citizens are advised to stay off the streets as much as possible especially at night and to listen to the news about areas were violence is currently occurring. The police are doing their best to control the situation and to stop the people responsible however they are currently having difficulties as many of the people leading these outbreaks of violence seem to have superhuman powers.

Please standby for more updates.

The Start of a War @ 01:31 pm

[info]rose_red:

Rose Red met with each group individually to tell them what she expected of them for their upcoming attack. The point of these attacks was not to win them and destroy everything though they could if they wanted she didn’t care as long as civilians were kept out of it. The point was too implicit the Kingpin in these attacks and that was all that they really needed to accomplish. The other thing she instructed them to do was if the fight got bad and it looked like they were to lose they were to make a retreat as fast as they could and if they got caught she would have them killed.

Mother's Day @ 01:24 am

[info]nextgen_holiday:

Mothers are the place that we call home.
On them we rest our heads and close our eyes.
There's no one else who grants the same soft peace,
Happiness, contentment, sweet release,
Erasing nighttime tears with lullabies,
Restoring the bright sun that makes us bloom. - Anonymous

Tired, poor huddled masses @ 08:53 pm

[info]jackmurdock:

A hard looking kid dressed in a new fancy-name jacket held up a corner of the building opposite from the one Jack crouched on. Five stories up, Jack could see his silhouette pretty well from the lone street light halfway down the block. The kid, and the four menacing figures ranged around him in doorways of rundown brick buildings, were ‘taking care of business‘. Even the cold couldn’t put a damper on the need to score that last hit. Cars made a slow but steady cash flow trickle as Jack watched them ease to a stop at the corner. A few seconds to exchange tiny baggies for folded paper, and then back to lean against something and wait for the next.

He scanned the gloomy black of the neighborhood )

Panic in the Streets (Open to Street Types) @ 07:15 pm

[info]two_gun_kid:

With the giant citadel that had appeared in Central Park and the vast majority of the city's super-heroes fighting against the being protecting it, it had left the streets largely watched.  Already, many fires had been set and looting was running rampant.

Abigail did not consider herself a super-hero by any means.  She was a private eye and sometimes bounty hunter who occasionally did things that could be considered vigilantism.  But her father had instilled in her a belief in the power of law and order.  And the power of civilization.  Out in the barely tamed west, people had to be able to rely on each other as a community, keep common decency, or fall into chaos.

This wasn't any of that.

She stopped in front of an electronics store, where three man were trying to juggle various high end and high priced devices.  Her hat was low over her face, obscuring it slightly, and her colts were in her holsters.

"I'd put those back if I were you," she said.

"You gonna make us?" one demanded.

"I reckon I might," she replied.

They found this funny.

Her guns had cleared the holsters and bullets had just missed taking their heads off before they could blink.  "Want to reconsider? she offered.
