Happy Families are All Alike, my foot.
Do your parents get along? Mine don't. They're in constant competition with each other. They had 'Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better' played as 'their song' at their third wedding to each other. Yes, their third to each other. They're back on the divorce part of the cycle now.

Mom still picks Dad up over her shoulder and drags him upstairs. They defined fate, Granny Goodness, and Darkseid himself to be together.

I wouldn't wish the hardships on anyone, but it's practically a fairy tale romance.

My dads get along okay, except when Daddy's mad at Dad because Dad's been a jerk.

Dad apparently got along with my mother well enough for one night.

From all I have been able to tell, your mom knows how to handle those. Father has... heavily implied that she uses a little occasional positive reinforcement with food.

My dads aren't actually romantically involved with each other and never have been. But they get along just fine. And my mother is still in a coma. Some might say that she's easier to get along with that way, but no one has said that within earshot of me in ages.

...And I still say that if it had been "disproportionate retribution", it would have involved more bullet ants.

Depends. Mom and Damien obviously got along at least once, otherwise Alex and I wouldn't be here.
