Cold Air (open)
Kalypso took a deep breath in and slowly let it out. Cold air was always good for clearing the head and the polluted air from lungs. Kalypso hovered far above New York, high enough that the city was just a speck of light in the dark. Mom had said the cold thing was a racial trait of theirs. Apparently Eternals liked high cold places and Kalypso appeared to be no exception.

She took another deep breath and closed her eyes. Everything was so peaceful up here. The troubles and cares withered away in the cold.

The summer had been a busy one. Mom's business was really taking off and Kal had been pressed into slave labor for much of the summer. Not that she minded much. She'd do anything for her mother. It had always been the two of them versus everyone else. Though now it was Mom, Kal and Jack against everyone else.

She smiled at the thought of Jack. The man had become such a huge part of Kal's life and she loved him beyond words. It was even worth the few bouts of interference from her mother. Mom hadn't even tried to move Kal back in with Jack again. Which Kal was very thankful for.

Kalypso looked up at dark sky above and at the stars. She smiled and started going up.

Apparently it is a racial trait. He was a long ways away, but there's also not much up here to get in the way of spotting someone else sharing the skies. Thankfully, he's also faster than she is when he puts his mind to it.

"Fancy meeting you here."

Kalypso smiled. "Apparently we cannot resist places that are high and cold," she smiled. "Hello, cousin."

"Usually, I prefer space, it gives the most fascinating perspective. But since the fight with the giant, I've found a bit of atmosphere and weather more comfortable. How've you been?"

"I've never had the courage to go up into space," she said. Her mother had mentioned going into space, but Kal hadn't gotten up the courage just yet. "I am well. Just came up here to clear my head. How are you? I read about the fight with the giant monster."

"It was... interesting. Its one thing to know that nothing short of atomization can kill you, another to have to take the time to reform arms and almost worse. Been doing a lot of clearing my head since then, either under the sea working on hydrobase or up here. I should show you space sometime, though. I think you'd love it up there."

She smiled. "I'd like that since I can't seem to do it on my own. I'm a huge chicken." She looked up and saw Saturn. Somewhere on a moon of that planet was her father. A man she didn't know.

"I'm glad you're well and you came out of it okay."

He extends a hand. "No time like the present. Hang on and I'll give you a lift. Just be careful on re-entry. You're immune to heat, your wardrobe isn't. Take the trip back down slow and easy. As for the fight... turned out it was true. Took a couple days, but I was good as new eventually. Still pretty disorienting."

She smiled and placed her hand in his, trusting him completely. "Eh. If my clothes burn up, I'm sure my mother will be happy to see me embracing my hedonistic side."

"I should think about the Avengers. Seems like you guys get all the fun."

"Ok, up to you then. I think I'm just lucky to have a couple things made for the wear and tear or the press coverage of the aftermath of the fight might have gone a little differently. And maybe you should. I'd love to have you around more Though you seem pretty content where you are too." he answers, starting to work upwards higher, shifting to telepathy partway when the atmosphere starts to thin. Normally he's not much of a telepath, but she's good enough with it he can manage, though it probably doesn't take her much to figure out that its not one of his talents.

"I am content and don't think I'm ready to be an Avenger just yet. I don't have much exposure to that side of life yet and I'm not sure if I want to go there."

Kalypso wrapped a bubble of air around them and held it there so they could still talk. She knew her cousin wasn't strong on the telepathic side of things and she didn't care for it much.

"That's an impressive use of your shaping powers. I didn't know you'd done any work with non-solids. As for that side of life... well, eventually you'll have plenty of chance to try it if you're so inclined. Right now, go with what you enjoy. There isn't a hurry."

"It's simple telekinesis. I'm just holding the air around us," she admitted. "Mom mentioned doing this a few times."

Kal smiled. "That seems to be the ongoing theme lately. No hurry."

"Depends on your perspective. I've only managed to get my telekinesis to do one thing, and I'm not sure how most telekinetics would look at it, though I've heard some practice just to get used to moving liquids. I think you're just talented. As for the theme... pretty consistent one among most Eternals, at least until Apocalypse shows up or the gods go to war."

Kal took re-entry a little faster than intended and in the process her clothes burned up. Not that she cared about it, but it meant she had to go home or to Jack's. She opted for the latter.

Naked as the day she was born, she landed on the fire escape and tapped on the window.

Jack was in the middle of doing some changing himself when he heard someone at the window, from the black he'd begun wearing at night into something a little more comfortable. He'd pulled on some shorts and stuck his head around the bedroom door to look out at the window. Oooh, skin. Familiar skin!

He hurried over to get her inside. "Hey. Not that I'm complaining, but what happened to your clothes?"

"I can understand that." Jack handed her the shirt, buttoned down and went to get something for them to drink. His sofa wasn't that kind to bare skin and that's where they'd be watching movies later. Plus, the shirt was buttoned down and his artist's eye liked the peeks of skin between the buttons.

"Your mom should probably be with you at the first meeting."

Kal slipped into his shirt. She loved wearing his shirts when she was at his place. It made her feel closer to him, which these days was getting harder. Since learning she wasn't even a mutant, or human for that matter, she felt herself drawing further away from people and humanity in general.

"I would just like her to tell him about me. I can handle meeting him."
