Fluff meme: Cooking is a science!
Cooking she could do, other people putting in all that effort and cooking for her? She couldn't do. Which was exactly why when Aleks proposed this dinner thing she'd already planned on coming early to help the moment she agreed.

Well, okay, she'd avoid having to cut any onions but she was still handy in the kitchen. Besides, regardless of what people said, cooking was a science. And she was a scientist.

"Hi. Now I know the fact I brought wine may be odd, considering I don't drink it, but I do own some. Fine, I use it only for cooking, but still. Classic guest-gift and it works with the whole cooking dinner thing you've got going," she rambles once he opens the door. Lena would admit to some slight nervousness. Not willingly, but still it had to count for something.

He was excellent company, a big part of the reason she didn't mind the mid-weekly interruptions in her research that constituted his checkups. 	He noted her mention of not normally being a wine drinker, and grabs a couple of his imported beers from the fridge. He's not sure if she's a beer drinker either, but its the good stuff, and what he's having. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

She's not much of a beer drinker either but it doesn't mean she won't drink it, and she's especially open to trying new types. Besides, he no doubt has a much better idea of which ones are good than she does. "Thanks, are you as picky about your beers as some people at work?" She noted that it was imported and had to ask. People at SHIELD sometimes brewed their own beers (The teddy bear) so it wouldn't surprise her if he was particular about his brews.

"I wish I could answer that easily but the truth is that I don't actually spend much time...not working. So I just dabble in things, and have dropped some old hobbies. Stuck with mostly individual stuff. You know like reading too much, sudoku, doodling, I'm really quite dull. Shooting practice hardly counts to you as a hobby no doubt. Umm let's see...I used to ski, bike, did a bit of badminton or soccer or whatever team sport if people were free. Ah, and I used to play chess. Haven't in years though I'll admit. Really not much for you to work off for excuses I'm afraid."

"I'm sure there's something in there. We were going to put our heads together on these excuses, after all. Never anything wrong with chess, if you'd like to play at some point. And the reading is... well, obviously a shared passion. As for shooting... I'm not that great for an agent. If I'm in the field, its not for handguns. I do some of their heavy weapons work, or testing things that might explode... but lots of people are better on the range."

"And Aleks? I'm well aware of what they use you for in the field," she chuckles. There's no need to state the obvious. SHIELD wanted to know what their agents powers could do, and that included the extent they could be pushed. There were more than enough files about the strengths and weaknesses of these powers that she'd written up over the years. His just happened to be the one that had the most frequently updated samples attached.

"Out of non-scientific curiousity...what's that like? The anger-management Hulk-outs I mean." She never asked at work, psychology was an interest, not her job. And as far as her job went, the psychology of these hulk-outs wasn't relevant except for diagnosing symptoms using related brain activity . But she wanted to know how it affected him as a person, not an agent.

"Depends a lot on whether its gradual build-up, or because of absorbing too much radiation at once, so it hits all at the same time. The slow way, just... hard to notice at first. More irritability, easily frustrated, too much energy at first. When it gets bad, its like having a totally different person in my head, doing a lot of the driving. I'm sort of aware, but not in control, and its all kind of hazy."
