Wanted Criminal (open to reactions)
Reporters lined up outside of the Gotham City Police Station, filming the transport of the Artist's body from the police station into a van. The police officers were all grumbling about being caught off guard by the assault on their station. The, finally, the Chief of Police stood up on his podium and made his broadcast announcement.

"Robert Franklin 'Frank' Wells, otherwise known as The Artist, was murdered last night in his cell. He was recently brought in for a string of murders of multiple women, including the local crime fighter, Red Arrow. We have identified the culprit of this murder. He has strong ties to the Red Arrow and has been recently seen in Gotham. The man who murdered Robert Wells is none other than the Green Arrow."

The Chief of Police took that moment to hold up the large bag containing a bloodied green arrow, taken from the Artist's forehead.

"The Green Arrow is now a wanted criminal. All who see him are advised to call the police so he can be brought in for his crime."

The cameras were turned away from the Chief of Police then, and each reporter put their own shocked responses and questions to the tail ends of their reports. The news filled the television screens all across the United States. Word was out on the Green Arrow.

Robert Queen is still proud of his brother. Of course, this is going to be a major problem. People will be looking for the Green Arrow in Gotham and that will limit their movement, especially if the Batman chooses to get off his ass and get involved. Even if Keith goes back to Star City, there will be others who will want to question him.

He's got to get Keith out of town tonight, but he can't /force/ him to go or Keith will rebel.

Robert weighs a few options in his mind and decides against calling Rose or Angela. He doesn't want Keith involved in the team. He could call Slade, but he doesn't think that will go over well with Keith and Slade is still in hiding for the attack on Roy Harper.

Robert considers another place that they can go, but it will involve reaching out to his adopted brother and the League of Assassins, which has its own set of issues. Still, Damien would be the least likely to sell Keith out to the authorities, in Robert's mind.

But that means leaving Jane, because Robert can't let Keith go alone. He might lose his nerve at the last second and try to confess or Oliver will convince him to come home. No, better to go with him and keep him out of danger.

He readies his gear for the evening and waits for Jane to come home, because he has to explain to her what needs to happen and what she needs to do.

She had just gotten a case out of the way. It had felt nice to do something that didn't involve wallowing in a bottle of booze. She had decided that Mia wouldn't have wanted her to destroy herself like that.

Which was why she was so glad she had done something productive. Until she saw the news on the way back home. She was silently freaking out on behalf of Mia. What the hell was going on. She wouldn't have wanted that!

She came home shortly after seeing that feeling bewildered and confused.

	She is just so happy to hug him. To forget the shock to her system for a moment. "Good. I managed to find the kids. Got them to their Grandma nice and safe." She loves helping families. "I'm glad you got them home, honey. I know that was important to you." Robert says. Jane's heart is one of the biggest reasons he loves her. She's willing to accept people no matter what they've done in the past, to give second chances the way she'd done for him.

He holds her a little bit longer, before pulling back.

"Have you seen the news lately, Jane? Something happened and we need to talk about it." he says.

She sees no reason to not give people a second chance. It made no sense to not give people a chance to prove their worth.

What he said brought her back to reality. She nods slowly. "I can't believe it happened. Yet... I know there are many people who would have a hard time staying their hands."

She knows Robert is one of them. She hasn't thought about it but she realizes that her lover would have killed the Artist given the chance.

Right now, Robert wages a silent war with himself. He can tell Jane what Keith did and ask her to protect him, going against her beliefs. She and Mia were best friends, and there was a better than good chance that Jane wouldn't approve of what Keith had done. However, she might listen to Robert and not turn his brother in.

But that would also make Jane an accessory after the fact. She would have to lie to more and more people to cover it up. It might damage whatever views she has of Keith to know that he'd killed Mia's killer.

But Jane knows that Robert is a killer. He's never hidden that from her or asked her to discount that when dealing with him. She knows what kind of man he is and she loves him anyway. Besides, he'd gone to the GCPD to kill the Artist anyway. It wasn't a stretch to say that he'd done it instead of Green Arrow.

"I did it, Jane. I killed him and people are going to be looking for me. Green Arrow was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I...may have to go away for awhile." Robert says, looking away from her.

"What?" Her voice goes small. She doesn't understand this right now.

He seems to be trying to lie to her. She doesn't understand why he would do that. At least it seemed like he was lying. People didn't look at others directly when they lied or when they were ashamed.

It hurt he was leaving. She didn't expect him to want to stay though if he was willing to lie. He was doing this for a reason though, he had to be.

"If you have to go.... please stay safe."

"A lot of things are happening all at once, Jane. I want to stay with you, Jane. I love you and I never thought I would know what that's like. But if I stay, you're going to get pulled into this and it wreck your life. I swore that I would never be a burden to you." Robert says quietly.

"You are the only woman in my life that I want to be a better man for, but I understand that my coming and going isn't fair to you." he says, gathering up his nerve. He doesn't want to say the words on the edge of his lips, because he's terrified, for the first time in his life, that Jane might actually agree.

"I understand if you don't want to be with me anymore. You deserve someone who will be with you every night when you come home, someone that won't make you wait for days or weeks on end to find out if he'd alive or dead." Robert says.

"I love you, but I won't ask to you to wait for me." he says.

"You never were," Jane tries to reassure him. She doesn't want him to start thinking like that. He had been worth it for her.

She shakes her head. "Then in that stroke I'm not fair right back. I'll always be out the door on a case. Sometimes I don't even sleep because my job is so important."

Her calling really. And sometimes she was gone for days. "I don't want that kind of man though Robert. I want you. I love you.... and I'm willing to wait."

Even if she thinks he is lying about the Artist and hates that he is leaving her alone again. But she has gotten used to being alone and he was never the one to do that to her.

And once again, Jane demonstrates another reason that he loves her. He hugs her again.

"I thought you'd tell me to leave, but I'm glad you didn't. I'm serious, though, Jane. There may be people who come to you looking for me over this. If they ask you, you need to tell them that I did this, no matter what. You also have no idea where I'm going or when I'll be back.

I may be on the run for awhile, but I swear I'll call you as often as I can and I'll be back as soon as I possibly can." Robert says, kissing her.

"I swear, I'm coming back. I'll even make fried rice when I do." he grins.

Jane savored that kiss getting the feeling she won't see him for a long time. Whatever it is he is really hiding she needs to trust him. She'll do as he says because she trusts him and loves him.

She cups his face staring at him intently. "I understand. I'll do everything I can.... You better stay safe or I swear I'll kick your ass darling."

Oh she means it. And she already misses him.

"I promise, Jane. I'll come back. Right now, I need your help, though.

I need to get a couple of plane tickets out of Gotham ASAP under a couple of assumed names. Can you help me? You're way better with computers than I am.

Use Steve Barton as one name on the tickets and..." Robert tried to think of name that sounded tough.

He liked Clint. Clint Barton. Much tougher than Steve Barton anyway.

"Clint Barton for the other one." he says.

She raises an eyebrow. But then moves to where her computer is. It takes her a few minutes to do this in a way that won't be obvious to anyone who doesn't know what to look for. She may be good but she is good enough to see where her skills fall short and prays it won't put him in danger.

"Okay I'm setting it up. Do you want to stay in this country or go on a walk about because I can start you on the road to either. Don't give me too many details though. The less I actually know, the better for us both." She peered over the top of her screen at him the glow from the computer gave her eyes an eerie brighter cast.

	She blinks looking up again with an owlish expression. She had been lost in the data and now she just blushes. "No. You never mentioned anything like that." She looks back to the screen. 	"I'm in love with the world's greatest detective. Smartest, too." Robert says. He walks over to Jane and begins massaging her shoulders while she sits in the chair. She's always so tense. "You're dating Batman? When did that happen," Jane mutters out loud in a distracted tone. She's following him just barely. But somehow his hands on her shoulders gets her back to reality.

"Someday won't come soon enough," Jane says finally showing that she's just very tired. As far as she's willing to go for him she is also ready to crawl into bed to sleep for a long time.
