Checking on the home team
Commander Fontaine, Deputy Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., made the rounds when the special ops team came back in. After their last disastrous outing, she wanted to make sure they were still in one cohesive piece. The reports had been favorable.

She hadn't met the newest member yet, though she knew the contents of his file. She'd been the one to have it sent to Sammy for consideration. Her little gun nut, and Walker and Dugan, could always use someone with the ability to build a better gun.

Sammy's report had been terse but informative. The others' a little more informative. Landon was next on her list.

Jason turns around and smiles when he sees the probe droid. "Oh yep! That's mine, Fury. One of the surveillance droids Ah told you about." he says.

"Veil, stealth mode." Tech commands.

The surveillance droid vanishes from sight immediately.

"Veil, disengage stealth mode."

The little droid appears next to Tech.

"All right, Fury. One more lock to reconfigure and we're in. It'll only take a moment." he says.

A few minutes later, the door rises and lights flicker to life inside one story warehouse. A shelf on the left wall rises at least fifteen feet from the ground and stretches back at least fifty yards.

The shelves contain guns of almost every type imaginable. Pistols, automatics, shotguns, SMG's, assault and sniper rifles line the side closest to the door. Going back further comes the heavier artillery. Grenade and rocket launchers, missiles, and the like. Down at the furthest end, there is a massive gun with a harness of sorts with as sign on it.

Use only in case of tank-fire. -T

"Um...so here we are." Tech says.

Jason just blinks.

"Ah could say lots of things to that, but Ah'm gonna be smart and go with the obvious one.

Hell yes, Fury. And you'll get new gear on birthdays, anniversaries and random occasions. Oh, but check those out, over there, before you say 'I do'." Jason says, pointing to center of the room.

If she looks, she'll see a sleek car that looks like some manner of futuristic Aston Martin.

" That's the hovercar. Ain't tested yet, so Ah'd like to get it back to base and do some closed circuit testing. It also needs a better power source. Savoy hated it because it didn't perform well on gas." Jason says.

"If Ah could get my hands on a renewable energy source of some kind, that car might see some use. Maybe Stark Industries has somethin'? Or Doc Richards?" he asks.

	She took three steps toward the car before bringing herself up short. And turned her back. It was really hard. "One of them should. I'll make inquiries as soon as I have a chance. Back to plan - take only the things you must have and put them in the dimensional pocket...I still can't get over you creating one. Tell me what goes and let's started." "Okay...give me just a moment to find it..." Jason says, looking around. He spots four large metallic cases on the bottom of the set of shelves directly across from the door.

"Ah think we can get most of the guns into these four. Anything else will just have to wait." he says, pulling the cases out one by one.

He drags the first one to the wall and begins loading in several different weapons, looking over what is there and then seemingly taking things at random.

"Sam, take whatever you like. You can probably get thirty-five hand guns into one of those. Otherwise, two of the heavy artillery weapons will fill it, or ten of the semi-automatics." Jason says.

"Leave one case open, though, please. Ah'll need to grab a few of the items Ah'd like to adapt into the team's gear in that."

Take what she wanted? She wanted it all! She wasn't greedy by nature, but this was so...shiny!

She took one of the cases and opened it up to begin filling it from the shelves. Once she had it done, she filled a second with the heavy artillery. The massive gun with harness down at the end was a major want if only to fire it once, but too big for this one quick grab. The next one would be far better planned.

The fourth she left unfilled, though she dragged it out for Jason to fill. "Never give a woman blanket permission to a place like this," she admonished while still looking over the offerings. "What else?"

"Said woman just asked me to marry her. Ah suppose it's okay." Jason says. Yet another inside joke that is destined never to get old.

"On the far wall over there, will please grab the gauntlets on the second row, along with with small D-Cell Battery looking things, please? The shock gauntlet are for me, but Ah plan to upgrade them in a way to give Walker more control when the throws his shield. Hopefully, it'll be a magnetically controlled version of Captain America's.

Ah've also got a couple of person kinetic shield generators Ah'm workin' on for our new suits, as well as a phasing unit that could possibly let us walk through walls for a short time. That one will require serious testing while Ah work out the bugs.

Finally, there's stuff Ah plan to add that will allow some of the more human members on the team to keep up with Childress in the speed and reaction-time department. Bein' able to run and shoot a bit faster might help all of us." Tech says.

"Then Ah just gotta activate Legion and tell him where to go. Estimated time of departure is eight minutes."

	She ran over to the wall to get the requested items. "You'll be getting proposals from the others in no time. Except Walker's proposal will be more in the line of setting you up with one of his women as a thank you." She handed the stuff over. "Can't send Legion to the helicarrier or the Directorate. Okay, we cannot send him to Helicarrier or the Directorate, but we need a place to stash him until further notice..." he says, thinking. Then he looks at her. "Problem with that is you won't have access to him." It would be so much easier if the stuff could be stashed at the hydrobase, but that was pushing the security issues.

"But, I could ask Jarvis at the Avengers mansion to let me have Legion arrive in the back out of sight as long as he stays cloaked and we get him immediately." That was doable. The Avengers mansion was public and... "Can you program delay his arrival? Say, forty eight hours? By then we should additional lab space on the ground for your inventions. We can meet him at the Avengers mansion when he arrives."

"Ah can have him go into rest mode once he's there so that he doesn't bother anyone. Then we'll just pick him up once we get back." Jason tells her.

"Yeah, Ah think Ah get him to arrive around the time we want to. It won't take him long to get to New York at all. The problem is making sure no one tries to attack or destroy him along the way. It would be a bad idea for whoever did so." Jason says.

"Okay, not that large compared to the godlings on the Defenders." She wondered what Tech would consider large and decided now was not the time to put a kink in her brain.

She pulled out her cell phone and activated the GPS. Then typed in the address for the Avengers mansion. It provided surface coordinates in case of landing from space, always a possibility in their line of work. "Program him to arrive at these coordinates in forty eight hours. By then we'll be on the property waiting and you can flag him in or something. We'll also have a place to store him."

	"Very well. Ah will get right on that right now..." Jason says, looking around from left to right. When he doesn't see what he's looking for his eyes comb the room again, looking for what should easy to find: a seven-foot tall, bipedal android. The android hits the ground and leaves small impact crater in its wake. The crash of metal on stone is loud in the dark of night.

The creature's lone green eye takes in both humans, turns blue for one moment as it assesses and evaluates each.

"Confirmed identity: Jason Howard Landon. Creator, Homo Sapien, Superior. Unconfirmed: Female, 5'6", 120 lbs. Biorhythms inconclusive.

Query: Creator, who is your friend?" Legion-1 asks.

One look and Sammy knew sending Legion to the Avengers was a Bad Idea. She was thinking something small, the size of a child even, like an overgrown Roomba. Not this. She would be banned for life and longer, not to mention bring back memories of Ultron.

She couldn't do that, not to the Avengers or James. If she had any hope of getting Tech acquaintances in the superhero community with the like skills and genius level intellect, this wasn't the way to introduce him.

"Change in plans, Creator," Sammy said. "He'll have to come with us. There are reasons he can't go to the Avengers. Will he fit in the pocket dimension?" It was possible, considering Tech's concept of 'small'.

"LEGION! Can you /please/ not sneak around like that! Ah know you were made for stealth, but Jesus Christ, Shepherd of Judea, man!" Jason says, spinning to face the droid.

"Sammy, Legion. Legion, Sammy." Jason says, making introductions.

"Oh, Ah don't think he'll fit in the pocket dimension." he says. "But he has stealth systems. Maybe...maybe Ah can rig up a way for us to take him with us on the plane. In fact, Ah think Ah can." he says.

It was a weird thing to take note of while trying to clean out a warehouse in secret, but Sammy realized that Tech, Jason, had moved on from calling her Fury to Sam, and then to Sammy and introducing her by that name.

"Hello, Legion." That was even weirder. "If he stays in stealth and harmless mode, we can run interference with the crew to stay away from the cargo. Why did the first floating ball call me Mistress?"

Legion considers what humans would call "the pros and cons" of an image inducer.

However, when Sam asks about the first floating ball, Legion makes a very human gesture: he places the palm of his hand to his face. There is a hiss of air exhaust near his chest, the closest he can approximate to a human sigh.

"Speculative Answer: The surveillance droid, designation Veil, has undergone a corruption of the logic circuits coinciding with a recent thunderstorm and the fact that a security guard seemed to be watching a movie about warrior stars on a portable electronic device.

The being on the device asked it's masters bidding, and Veil has decided to emulate this action everyone in comes across because it believes such to be a way to incite less fear and more relaxation in organic beings." Legion explains.

	Jason Landon had created a security surveillance system ... that learned and used what it learned. "Thank you, Legion." Politeness was never wrong, Mom always said. "Veil developed a sense of humor?" Jason asks, clearly surprised. Okay, he didn't build that into the programming...did he?

Jason thinks about that as he gives Legion the coordinates to his grandmother's house.

"Evasive actions only, do not engage hostile targets unless given direct command to do so. Engage stealth mode in populated areas if unavoidable, other wise, avoid contact with all organic beings." Jason commands.
