When Monsters Attack in Memphis!
The citizens of Memphis, TN were trying to stay cool on a hot summer's day. The temperature reached 90 degrees with about 85% humidity. It was a hot sticky day and the citizens sought relief from the heat wherever they could. Some sought it in the air conditioned buildings while other sought it in water.

Tourists to the city took in the local sights. Some wandered through Graceland and others walked along Beale Street in the heat. Some took a cruise on the Tunica Queen Riverboat. These poor unfortunate souls would be the first to discover the impending doom that was about to strike the city.

The waters of the mighty Mississippi churned and foamed formed. A few moments later a shape emerged from the muddy waters. The riverboat was tossed about and slowly the monster emerged from the water and climbed up the east bank. It slowly pulled itself up to its full 300' height and looked at the city below. It let out a mighty roar and started destroying buildings.

	"I'll meet you all there," Anya said over the comms. Of course she was across the country working on the computer systems in the west coast compound. 	Iason is the first to reach the site, a bit faster than the jets and with a bit of a head start, but support isn't far behind. He opens with a salvo of heat blasts, trying to draw the thing's attention to him, and draw it into open land and away from any occupied territory. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	The heat blasts definitely got Grugulus' attention, but in no way did they harm him. His scaly skin was way too tough to be bothered by heat. He roared and turned his attention to the man flying at him. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	He knows he's just on delaying tactics right now. Focusing on defense, he jets back out of reach, guiding the monster away from civilization, firing a new heat beam every now and then to keep it focused, even if they're not doing much. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	On one hand, so long as he keeps flying backwards, paying attention to staying just out of reach, he's not getting hit, just leading the monster backwards as he dodges and weaves, blasting away. On the downside, he's not doing any damage this way either, but its buying the Avengers' roster some time to get here and get their bearings. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Time to get more serious about this. Making sure people have fled, he picks up the church's bus, lifting it and rising another coupel hundred feet over the giant's head. Then he charges, firing heat beams all the way before using the bus as a battering ram. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The rest of the Avengers safely on the ground, Toni brought the quinjet in for another attack run. She flipped some switches on the console, switching from the lasers to ballistic weaponry. "Arming missiles... and fire!" A half dozen heat-seeking missiles tore from the quinjet toward the giant. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Grugulus roared and stomped on Graceland as the bus slammed into him. A grunt escaped it. It hurt. A little. More than a little. His head now hurt. Then came the flagpole in the eye. That hurt. He swiped at the thing sticking a little way in his eye. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	When confronted with a 300 foot giant monster, a puny human did the only thing possible - tried to keep other puny humans out of harm's way of falling debris. Sammy used her latest training exercise. She stopped time in five second increments to pull frozen people out of the way of things falling on them before moving on to the next. 	Anya fired at the creature with another blast of the uni-beam. Low power warnings went off. Not wasn't exactly the time to be running low on power. She increased the flow of power from the solar cells. Thankfully it was a sunny day. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Queen Cobra stood in caverns underground and triumphantly lifted the Serpent Crown. It had finally been knocked loose from its resting place by the battle nearby and it was in her possession.
