Big Damn Heroes
Abel dropped them out of a space warp as close to Earth as possible. The ship shook as it entered the upper atmosphere and the hull started to heat up and started to glow red. Azura helped Alex pilot the ship through the turbulence. She hoped the rust bucket held together.

Once they were past the initial barrier and slowed down a bit, they set a course straight for Xavier's. They ignored hails from local enforcement agencies and continued on their way. Their passenger, the Shi'ar, had been antsy during the whole trip and seemed a little relieved once they arrived. It didn't last long and he fretted until they arrived over Xavier's.

Their timing was perfect. They arrived just in time to see the Imperial Guard standing off with the X-Men and Prince Starbridge. Azura shoved their Shi'ar guest into her seat and ordered him to take over. She grabbed her gun and Godslayer and raced for the hatch.

Alex gave the flying of the ship to their guest and raced after Azura. Once they were low enough the Guardians of the Galaxy exited the ship to help Prince Starbridge and the X-Men.

"I got your back," Azura said as she raced out of the ship using the Time Gem to speed herself up just a bit.

Alex lets the anxiety-bomb fly, then promptly feels his legs give out beneath him as his brain goes through the equivalent of technological backlash from being overclocked.

Kallark got hit by Quill's psychic attack. It affected him just enough to make him stop for a few brief moments.

Azura caught Quill before he fell to the ground. "Everyone on the ship now!" she yelled and started racing back with Quill.

Taking a page from her dad's book, Cait grabbed Torn Ear and formed an ice slide to slide them to the waiting ship.

Starbridge knows enough to know that when someone you've put in charge of your security wants you somewhere, you should stay there. Even if all yor friends aren't there yet and you're worried sick.

Even with her shields up, Rachel could feel some of what Alex had unleashed, like a hammer against her mental walls. She touched down, heading into the ship.

As soon as the Guardians, their target, and their target's living baggage are all aboard, Alex is deposited in the pilot's seat and takes off. Most of the Imperial Guard are left in their exhaust, and the momentary lead was enough to shake Gladiator as well.

"Alright honored backwater guests, listen up. My name is Alex Quill, Field Commander for the Guardians of the Galaxy. This is my ship. I understand and respect your needs for tagging along, but I am going to make this clear. If you're on my ship, you'll follow my orders, because if I bother giving one to you instead of my crew, there's likely a damn good reason for it.

That said, please make yourselves comfortable, help yourself to any beverage that doesn't have a red label with three half circles, and don't give the red furry one any explosives. I'll explain why later."

//Red, introduce the team for me, I need to focus on piloting and remembering how to blink. Az, I need Abe to co-pilot.// He relays the orders with what's left of his telepathy for the next few hours, then, more quietly and isolated, //Thanks for the assist, pretty lady.//

"Am being 'Rocket' Red Panda," Red told the X-Men. "And these are being Azura who is also being Abel--is being very confusing really--and these are being Iason and Eliza, who are being from Earth, but we are not holding it against them."

Azura just nodded. Open and friendly isn't exactly her thing. The air shimmered and Abel appeared in her spot.

"Hi," Abel said with a smile on his face. Friendly and open was exactly his thing. "It's nice to meet all of you. I'll converse with you all in a minute."

He turned to Alex and the ship. "Ready?" A moment later a space warp opened to take them into the far reaches of space.
