Returning home (Meme- Fluff, Meeting Again)
It was supposed to just be a week long trip to a dig site. It was going to help her finish off her degree so she could focus on her other duties full time. And really everything should have gone smoothly! It had. Mostly.

Except she got talked into staying for another week when they stumbled across a big find that was more of Kayura's area of specialty. It was really hard to say no because it was a fantastic example of mid-thirteenth century armor and it had been exciting.

Then she had wrenched her knee badly the day before she had to leave. She had to delay going back because of that. The site medic didn't want her to risk tearing something since they had to hike to and from the dig site. So now it was almost three weeks later and now she is finally back and so happy to just have to wait for the date to graduate more or less.

But boy was this a little embarrassing. Almost two weeks late coming home even though she had sent word explaining everything.

	The usual forms of correspondence are still unusual here, so Hajime, despite reasonable efforts, hasn't been entirely sure what she's been up to, beyond vague details and what Amiko-sama has been passing on when she's had time. He's in the main room, relaxing and enjoying some tea about the time she's arriving. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	She found out where he was fairy easily. She's going to go see him. It has been long enough that she really just wants to say hello. She hadn't quite realized she missed Hajime-sempai until she got back to the headquarters. So she doesn't bother hiding the grin on her face when she sees him. "Hello Sempai." She smiles as she takes her seat.

"Thank you." She sits down and tucks some of her hair back out of habit. "Do you remember that Lost Village we encountered months ago?.....The dig site was... similar. Only it was not tainted. Many of the buildings were still mostly in tact. It was lovely."

She can't help that content look that just passes over her. Truly she would be very happy as a historian.

	He does take note of it, but lets it pass. Best not to draw attention to such things, when both of them know that her duty will take her in another direction - and duty always comes first, of course. "I do, I would have loved to have seen it. 	She always knew her duty would have to come first. "My professor let me take a few pictures for myself. He's very happy. He knew I had been....bored. In class." She gives him a sheepish look. She had tried very hard to be a good student. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	She couldn't help it. There were very few things she was learning in some of her classes. Or she disagreed which actually made things interesting. "Hai." She pauses to dig around in her bag and pulls out the pictures and lays them out on the table. "Here they are." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	He ponders them for a few moments, looking on the images with something akin to nostalgia. So much of the past... so much of everything he knows... knew? Lost. In ruins. "Yes. 	"Really?" Her nose wrinkles up in thought. Then she moves thorough the pictures. "This looked much older. Sadly it's the one in the worst condition. It's at least three decades older than the rest." She thought it might have been a shrine or something. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	He nods, pointing out a couple things. "We had not attempted to build such permanent structures as these. I have learned a little about how they did it, but the oldest of these is still well after my time. But then... very, very little was designed to last then, aside from weapons, a few artifacts. He doesn't look at her in the process. She's prone to those unseemly overexhuberant displays of emotion - which are relatively alright for teen girls, so long as no one is so rude as to draw attention to it. At least that's his understanding of it.

There might just be not just one, but a couple dozen jumbo packages of oreos. They had a bit of time to prepare for her return, and Hajime might have just made sure it would be a warm welcome.
