Weakening of barriers
The barrier between dimensions was usually strong, but there were times when that barrier could be weakened. Either by time or by direct intervention. The barriers to the dimension where the Great Beasts of the North had been banished were weakened.

The first of the Great Beasts to escape the dimensional prison was Tundra.

In central Canada Tundra started ripping up the Earth and destroying everything in its path.

Mason grins, even as he's starting to look a little gaunt in the cheeks as calories go into transmutation energy. "I've been studying siege weapons." He climbs up on top of the ballista he's constructed and tips the giant bolt with a dual-chambered glass bulb. The chemicals inside the two halves don't play well together. He climbs back down and mans the crank, starting to wind it back in preparation for firing.

The sudden and quick blows from Jordan and Nim rocked the colossus, actually staggering him. This left him open for Alex's counterattack, large swathes of the Great beast's body covered with flame.

Now he was angry.

"YOUR INTERFERENCE MEANS NOTHING!" As Tundra's feet absorbed the earth beneath him to cover the flames, he brings his hands back..and then slams them together with enough force to uproot trees from the earth.

	Jordan digs his feet in against the shockwave, bracing himself, and managing, if barely, to hold his feet. That ringing in his ears will persist, and his balance is more than a little off, but he hopes that'll leave him an opening to take a swing in return. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Nim, being airborn, was thrown by the shockwave with nothing to brace against. But she manages to right herself before being thrown too far. 	Mel winces as the shockwave's effects have an impact on the area she's half-seeped into. .... Then she seeps all the way back in, and soon Mason won't even be able to spot the purple in the immediate ground anymore. She's on the move. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Mason raises two fingers to his lips and whistles as loudly as he can. (Okay, he makes a few failed attempts, and then whistles.) He waves for them to get clear once he has their attention, he'll let the missile fly. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Tundra is assaulted from both the back and the front, the blows powerful enough to distract him from his task of crushing Alex, releasing him from it's grip. Mason's missile flies, striking the monster hard, causing it to stumble. A gaping hole formed in it's stomach as it quickly began to absorb more earth, unaware Mel was ensconced within it. 	Probably unaware of Mel's presence, Jordan sees an opening, literally, and takes a big risk. Tundra will keep reforming unless they do something drastic, so he dives into the gaping hole made in the stomach, letting the Great Beast close up around him. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Now Alex was Not Happy. He shifted again. The dragon melted away and changed into something from a movie. Fire slid along Alex's body and he roared before diving right at Tundra. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Mel was seeped into the patches of Tundra's body and started two things. First, she purposely stopped trying to stay even remotely okay. Full-scale cringing Melness is immediately the order of the day in the soil of Tundra's body. The emotion of wanting to hunker down and give up permeates, haunts. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Tundra was about to engage the transformed beast, not noticing Jordan inside, but suddenly felt..hesitant? What was this? Tundra suddenly stopped, looking around unsure of what it was feeling. It let out a loud, melancholy sound as its mind became confused. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Jordan can't help but feel more despondent as well - but he's experiencing the environment, not part of the environment itself, so he can at least keep some focus on the purpose he worked in here with. Besides, eventually, he's going to need to breathe. That may be some ways off, but its still a good motivator.

Jordan flexes, forcing his limbs to move against the Earth, trying to tear Tundra apart from the inside.
