Weakening of barriers
The barrier between dimensions was usually strong, but there were times when that barrier could be weakened. Either by time or by direct intervention. The barriers to the dimension where the Great Beasts of the North had been banished were weakened.

The first of the Great Beasts to escape the dimensional prison was Tundra.

In central Canada Tundra started ripping up the Earth and destroying everything in its path.

	Mel tries to keep herself concentrated in the moderately safer places of the dirt-body, and otherwise just keeps the emotional weight coming, trying to keep things steered to sadness rather than lashing out in terror (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Tundra's booming moans of sadness grew louder and more frequent. It barely had the desire to swat at Alex or Nim, nor try and destroy the invader within. However the damage was significant enough to drop the Great Beast to one knee. Also, it was not consciously absorbing earth into itself to heal. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Its getting harder to concentrate, but Jordan focuses his best, spending a few moments marshalling his will and his strength, then redoubling his effort to tear Tundra apart from the inside. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	And now Mel has to get a hold of herself and start undiluting herself before it's just not safe to be haunting Tundra any longer. The patch of purple will start to show itself on the outside of him until she can eventually hump away between attacks. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Before Tundra can react to the growing mass of damage, the combined power of Nim and Masons' weapon annihilates the head of the Great Beast's physical body. Not too long afterward, the rest of the body starts to crumble. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
