Careful manuvering
Eliza was frantic in her search for some sun glasses and some warm clothing so she could go shopping. She pulled on a coat and shoved some gloves into her pocket and bounced out of her room with a purse stuck under one arm. She stops and stands by a window looking outside. It really did look chilly but she had to get out there to pick up something for the charity ball.

She wonders for a moment if she can recruit someone to go with her on this little trip. She smiles to herself and searches the mansion looking for Iason before she looses her nerve. There's no reason to not ask him to go with her. It's just to pick up some toys.

"Iason?"

	"Sounds good to me." he replies, letting her go long enough to find a place to sit. He didn't bother bundling, just getting basically dressed, so its not as long or difficult a process in his case. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Eliza pulled her coat off. before she sat back down next to him. It had been a little heavy but she is going to smooth her shirt out that she wore under it. No need to worry about things sliding around. She sat back down next to him once she was comfortable. She doesn't kick her shoes off yet but she's going to happy to curl into Iason's side. He's very comfortable to cuddle against.

	She's definitely pleasant to hold, and he's quite content to cuddle right now. "So, other than shopping and the movie, what do you like to do? "Well, I love eating thins that are terrible for me," she offers up. "I also love working on gymnastics stuff since I'm more at home climbing buildings and jumping from roof top to roof top. It takes a lot of training to be able to pull it off without hurting myself. I've been trying to teach myself to play the piano... because I just always loved the way it sounds, you know? I like watching films in other languages after I've seen them in English. It's interesting seeing how they have to change words to get the same feeling behind them."

That should help him out. She talks with her hands so they constantly flutter in front of her because she feels like she has to be doing something. Finally one hand gets planted on his thigh in a very innocent way while she's talking to him.

Once again, he seems pretty comfortable with that, though Iason isn't precisely known for being the shy type. "I can imagine that would take a lot of practice, yes. The piano is an interesting instrument, I'm more familiar with the harp and flute, but I'd love to hear you play sometime. Movies are good too, though I've never tried watching the same film in a different language. That would be an interesting study."

	She nods happily. "Yeah but I love it. It's thrilling to jump and just feel the air for a moment." She makes a face. "Let me work a little. I'm not that good yet. I'm getting better though. 	"Hmm, I know, as a whole, I tend to enjoy dramas the most. I don't think I have a wide enough experience with human movies to have a certain favorite yet. "Comparitively, I've been on Earth a very short time. Most of my life was split between Olympia and roaming the galaxy with my mother. The movie was designed specifically to have 100 speaking roles, and tells the tale of how Emperor Targo went from Targo the Great, benevolent ruler of the Skrull Empire to Targo the Mad during the earliest days of Skrull-Kree conflict before war broke out as everyone in the court and with the Emperor's ear sought to manipulate the situation for their own ends and he sought to navigate the political intrigue to do what was best for the Empire, and ends with Targo's tragic death and the breakout into full war."

	Her eye brows go up. The young woman was just shocked. It was a pretty big film. "Then that actress had to be very talented to be able to pull off all of those roles. 	"Many Skrulls are accomplished actors, supplementing their shapeshifting abilities. Therefore to be considered a master thespian among them is both a major feat, and requires significantly greater feats of acting talent to be recognized as such. She is among the greatest. "The Skrulls, Kree and Shi'ar all have their own customs, cultures and arts, many of them having developed for a lot longer than anything here. By comparison, its amazing Earth has progressed as quickly as it has in many areas. When you don't live in them, or your only real exposure it war, most people tend to miss that. Most Kree and Shi'ar don't know much about Skrull theatre either, but then the Skrulls don't care much about Shi'ar opera either."

	Eliza tilts her head up to look at him. The idea of an opera had the gears in her head turning as she tries to imagine what they sound like. "The Shi'ar evolved from Avians, they have a wider visual range than humans, so much of their art and high fashion deals with utilizing the color spectrum, and their performing arts often have people in even more vibrant wardrobes than Earth's Las Vegas shows. Their music is, in many ways, similar to Earth's, but relies more heavily upon instrumentals intended to convey emotional states or impressions than on lyrics. Some of their youth culture is experimenting with ballads and operatic works without a single word, still trying to tell a coherent story."

He pauses, considering. "The Kree are a military dictatorship, focused heavily upon enforcing uniformity. Much of the art has long since gone out of their culture, though they have some stirring military ballads. They spend a lot of time celebrating the master works of their past, some of which are impressive, but very little focus is put into creation of new art."

"That sounds really exciting actually," she says looking amused. "I bet they find our musicals boring since we don't really dress as flashy on Broadway."

She looks surprised for a moment then shakes her head. "How sad for them. I can understand being dedicated to serving a higher cause. But they miss out on so much."

She can't believe she feels sorry for them but she does.

"It makes sense they don't know that much about us. I mean while we're making huge advancements every year we're still way behind them in terms of technology. It's not that we're not smart enough either. It's just way too soon," Eliza says with a shrug. She has gotten pretty comfortable curled up against Iason. His body is pretty warm to her and all of the talking they're doing has her both relaxed to not be so shy and excited to just keep talking. "Lila Cheney?"

Eliza breaks into a tiny giggle. Oh wow. "That's no too bad."

He's adjusted his temperature to put off the heat she seems most comfortable with, but is naturally pretty warm anyway by default.

But yes, Lila Cheney, a rock star of your parents' generation who is also a mutant with intergalactic teleportation abilities. She took her act all over the galaxy. She was never big on Earth, but elsewhere, she's one of the best known Earthlings, and her popularity seems to wax and wane every decade or so among youth culture elsewhere rebelling against the standards of their own societies."

"You mean she can teleport all over and.... Huh. Well I don't blame her. And rock ios pretty awesome. I really enjoy the different kinds of music that Earth has and if someone wants to share rock with people who can enjoy it? Why not?" She shrugs. She wont mention the fact she has noticed his body temperature change to suit her needs. "Yeah. Well someday that will change. Alot of stuff has happened because of people needing to do things. Not a big deal. Technology advances depending on the needs of people. We don't really need to leave Earth yet."
