Fluff meme: Cooking is a science!
Cooking she could do, other people putting in all that effort and cooking for her? She couldn't do. Which was exactly why when Aleks proposed this dinner thing she'd already planned on coming early to help the moment she agreed.

Well, okay, she'd avoid having to cut any onions but she was still handy in the kitchen. Besides, regardless of what people said, cooking was a science. And she was a scientist.

"Hi. Now I know the fact I brought wine may be odd, considering I don't drink it, but I do own some. Fine, I use it only for cooking, but still. Classic guest-gift and it works with the whole cooking dinner thing you've got going," she rambles once he opens the door. Lena would admit to some slight nervousness. Not willingly, but still it had to count for something.

	He chuckles. "Whatever sounds good. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't have bought it. Hard-boiled eggs, spinach leaves, baby corn, carrots, green onion. I admit, I usually save the cooking for company. Left on my own, I'll throw a sandwich together or go get pizza or a burger. But now and then its good to stay in practice and prove I can cook." "Oh don't worry it's fun cooking with other people. Well, actually it depends the people but still," she smiled almost shyly. What he found interesting in that way about her was still a mystery to her, and not one she thought she'd figure out any time soon.

"It's A list but I'll throw in mushrooms, bacon and anything fried in butter on it too. I have a stuffed mushroom recipe that I wish I had more time to make with all those things. Ah, almost forgot, sauces. And let me say it again: garlic. It has to be mentioned again."

"I think that might just have enough garlic to please me," she smirked and continued working on the salad, knife work she could handle. "Well, it would give me an excuse to make them..." That's almost a tease, she is working on coming to terms with the fact that he'd be interested at all.

At least she knew his medical records well and wouldn't need to ask about allergies or find out too late what they were. That would be awkward.

	Yeah, his medical records are pretty much readily available to her. Aside from the whole gamma-irradiated problem, no allergies, no evidence of any other health concerns - healthy as a would-be-Hulk. There's just that one issue.
