He laughed again, before biting back on it and smiling at Avery. Despite having a book thrown at him, the conversation wasn't going so bad, yeah? And, in truth, watching Avery pout about was...cute. He looked so much younger when he acted like that.
"Alright, alright...lips are sealed." He was smug though, as he picked up the book from where it had landed. Curiously, he opened it up, peering down at the pages a bit passively.
"Reading about dark witches and wizards, huh?" Flipping to the index, he ran his thumb down and then across to the page number after finding his mother's family name. Thumbing through the pages, he glanced up at Avery a moment, then frowned. "Are you really upset about that inbred thing? Because, you know, my Meme wanted me to marry a first cousin. All about diluting the English 'mudblood' in my veins."

"I didn't say otherwise," he countered, finally flipping to a page on one of his forefathers. It was easy to see the Eytinge features, even Leon sported them. The high cheeks, the stern, icy eyes. They even had the same scowl, he noted, as the picture moved about. "And they did it for power, mostly. Because they could, or thought it was the right thing to do." He shrugged, flipping the page as he yawned a little.
"It isn't rude," he went on, though, glancing up at Avery. "And you can claim that your family hasn't intermarried all you like, but I won't buy it until I see the family tree myself."
Turning back to the book, he flicked through a few more pages with a disinterested sort of frown. "I didn't marry her, if you must know, because I was nine, and she had the voice of maul in heat."

"He would have probably killed my dad, if we hadn't left." After the ministry had, basically, fallen to Voldemort, muggle-born witches and wizards were prey. But that was in the past, and didn't matter all that much anymore.
And when Avery inched closer, all concern for the previous conversation fled. His eyes cut to the side, wide and a bit uncertain. 'If you want to'? Was this a trick?
Clearing his throat, Leon glanced away again and frowned. "Even if I did, why would you want me to?" He asked, fidgeting nervously. It was a set up. It had to be. After all the shit he'd given Avery over the years, how could the boy not be out for a little pay back?
"Shouldn't you hate me by now?"

"...A winning attitude, that. You were all muggle-born at some point." It wasn't as if magic created them, after all. More like...evolved talent, magic. "If you look far enough back, at least."
Still, his jaw clenched as Avery moved even closer, goosebumps rising up where the boy's breath danced over his skin. It was toxic, and intoxicating at the same time, and it took everything he had to not shutter a little at the feelings it brought out of him.
"I do hate you, you fucking poof. Or did you miss that part?" Though he'd lost some of the conviction. Was something wrong with him? This was not the sort of reaction he wanted to have.
Though it was increasingly hard to deny some truth to the conversation. A part of him did want to kiss a boy. But kiss Avery? He wasn't sure of that one just yet.
"You saying you want to kiss me, you little fag? Have some sort of hard on for me, or something?" He turned to look at the other boy with a determined frown on his face, hands balling into fist at the touch of Avery's hand. "Want to get into my pants right now?"

"Forget it." He said with a huff, flopping down to the ground again with a bit of a surly expression. The whole matter was just a giant bother anyway, what was the point? It wasn't like any pureblood like Avery would care about someone like his father.
Swallowing, he moved his arm away from Avery crossing both over his chest as he chewed on his lip. Maybe the mangy mutt had a point. Maybe he was hoping he would hate someone like Avery if he said it enough. He knew he hated how open Avery was with his sexuality, and how...flamboyant he was. But was that it?
"So you want to shag me," he said after a moment, mulling it over in his head with a moody expression. "You've shagged other boys, then? Not just wanked off to porn on the computer, or something?" Leon certainly never had done either of those. He still wasn't brave enough to look at that sort of thing...well, not more than a picture or two. That stupid magazine he'd gotten for a Secret Santa had proven more...useful than he'd like to admit.
Sitting up again he, he unfolded his arms and pointed a bit accusingly at the other boy. "I have a girlfriend, you know. Isn't like I'm just going to go shagging people like you."

He had something to say, but whatever it was died the moment warm lips pressed against his own. For a moment everything stood still, in the story book way that often spoke of 'that first kiss'. It was electric, and horrifying at the same time. He sat frozen, unsure of what to do even as his heart began to beat wildly.
Push him away, push him away... a part of his mind argued, while another hissed with excited enjoyment. He couldn't decide, he couldn't figure out what he needed to listen to...
And in the end, a hand reached up as Avery started to pulled away. His fingers brushed lightly over the other boy's soft skin gingerly, as if he'd never before touched another person. Closing the small gap between them, their lips met for a second time.
