"Let's go," Maria said to Thomas as she grabbed the keys to one of Bruce's cars. "We're going to be late."

The joys of flight sometimes. Jon is, true to boyscout nature, prompt - and already there waiting for Thomas and Maria when they arrive. (Reply to this)(Thread)

Alina is pouring over the notebook of song options, occasionally nudging Jon and indicating a song for his approval or disapproval. And every so often she hiccups, discreetly spits something into her hand, and stashes it away in the ziplock baggie on her lap. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

They haven't been on stage or ordered yet, but still good to look things over while waiting. "I could have come and picked you up, you know." he adds. Not that it really worries him, but the magic enhanced hiccups have to be inconvenient for her. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Maria entered and immediately spotted Jon. He was hard to miss. Tall, dark and handsome stood out in a room. "Hey guys," she said with a wave and a big smile. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"If you don't mind going out of your way, I might take you up on that next time," Alina says, running her tongue over her teeth. None of them have been chipped yet, and hopefully the beads aren't coming out with enough force to do any damage, but the worrying is really annoying. Especially if it doesn't stop after fifteen minutes like she'd told him in would.

She waves back when she spots Maria, grinning at her and giving her surly-looking companion a once-over.

"Carrying you a few hundred miles? Why would I mind?" he replies with a smile. "Please do." That said, he looks up, and waves in Maria and Tomas' direction. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Surly-looking is right. Thomas follows, very reluctantly, behind Maria and bat glares at the back of her head. Not that he expects it to work, bat glaring did nothing against other bats. Though when they finally reach her friends he does his best to put on a pleasant face. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Jon, Alina, this is Thomas. Thomas, Jon and Alina." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Nice to meet you, finally. Maria has mentioned you a few times." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Yo," Alina says, waggling her fingertips at Thomas before gesturing expansively to the rest of the table. "Sit on down, I've got the song book with its paper slips and pencils, and we've got menus here somewhere." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

cantkeepmeout 2012-10-01 10:22 pm UTC (link)
He offers his hand to shake for each of them, just because he was mad at Maria didn't mean he should be impolite. "I'm sure she's said nothing but terrible things," he chuckles. "And likewise, she's mentioned both of you before." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	crossbow_bat 2012-10-01 10:26 pm UTC (link)
Maria gave him a light elbow to the side and rolled her eyes. "I said nothing but good things about you." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	first_son 2012-10-01 10:29 pm UTC (link)
"Its true, she's been very complimentary. Care to join us?" he asks, resisting the urge to stand and pull a chair out for Maria. He knows she hates it. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Do please sit," Alina says. "I'm getting a crick in my neck looking up at--" Hic! Rolling her eyes skyward, she cups a hand over her mouth and flicks the newly-acquired glass bead into it with her tongue. "Sorry about that." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

cantkeepmeout 2012-10-01 10:55 pm UTC (link)
"Why don't I fully believe that," he eyed Maria but did sit down. "Do you two do karaoke much?" Or does she need to drag you to it, is the unspoken question. Bitter? Slightly. At Alina's hiccuping beads he looks for a moment but makes no comment and just shrugs. Oh yay. Magic. Always has consequences. Weird ones though. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	crossbow_bat 2012-10-01 10:58 pm UTC (link)
Maria looked at Jon. "Go ahead. You know you want to." Oh that was kind of neat. "What else can you hiccup up?" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

collateralmagic 2012-10-03 02:42 am UTC (link)
"Just glass beads tonight," Alina says, making a face. "Hopefully it'll wear off in the next few minutes." If it doesn't, she'll probably have to sneak off to give Mistress 13 a call. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	first_son 2012-10-03 11:37 pm UTC (link)
"Side effect of teleporting. We've been holding off on doing any songs until it ends. Guessing she'll want something to drink after this though. I'm still kind of figuring out what to sing." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

cantkeepmeout 2012-10-03 11:51 pm UTC (link)
"Why don't we order drinks now then, while you guys figure out what to sing?" Because he really really needed a drink for this. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Good idea. Get me a Long Island," Maria said before sliding into her chair and diving into the book of songs. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Not a bad idea. I'll stick with Coke." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"I'm avoiding any and all carbonation until I'm done hiccuping," Alina says, waggling her half-full glass. "So I'll be sticking with water for now."

And she'll probably stick with the non-alcoholic beverages the rest of the night too, even if she's not teleporting home tonight, even if she's here with people who could handle most situations that might arise.

"Got any go-to songs, Maria? I can help you find 'em."

"Yes ma'am," he rolls his eyes at Maria but would've gone to get the drinks anyway to avoid discussion of songs. He'd listen to whatever atrocious singing would come up tonight but it'd be difficult to get him up there and singing himself. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"I'm sure Maria has plenty of suggestions, she's evil that way. Any suggestions for me, from either of you?" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	crossbow_bat 2012-10-09 06:19 pm UTC (link)
"I have this thing practically memorized," she said with a grin. She grabbed a pencil and some pieces of paper. She picked a few songs out for herself. A few for Thomas, though he didn't know it yet. She looked at Jon and tilted her head. "I think you should try some new ones and not the same as last time." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
