(Not) Just a Normal Day At Avengers' Mansion
Svalin and Tryggvi just landed on the small lawn in the back of the Avengers Mansion. Svalin had been getting antsy and decided to take Tryggvi out for a flight around New York. They were both feeling too confined. At least at the Defenders compound there was room to move around and a nice ocean breeze. There were too many tall buildings in New York and they were all too close.

Svalin dismounted and immediately removed the saddle. She let it fall on the ground and then removed the bridle. She smiled and lightly rubbed Tryggvi's nose before placing a kiss on his forehead. "Thank you, my friend. 'Twas a most enjoyable flight."

There's a brief lurch right after Sarah's words. Time stops, as evidenced by nothing moving in the wind, and everything peripheral to the Avengers halting in place.

And suddenly, there's the smell of fresh baked blueberry muffins, and a bald man standing behind a table full of them, and a pot of coffee.

"Very bad indeed, Sarah. Everyone, please take a seat, the lesson plan today is 'chronal disaster 101'."

	Ryan walked over to where the newcomer was and wiping it first, put his knife away. While the blueberry muffins smelled delicious he refrained from grabbing one at least until he had a better idea of what was going on and who this guy was. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Wally lands as well. He blinks a few times at all the muffins and then looks up at the strange man.

"Chronal Disaster?" he echos. "Woah...totally wasn't my fault this time, Mr. Muffin Man," he says, glancing around to make sure no one's about to blame him. He then blinks when Sarah explains things. Soon, Wally's smile comes back and he waits to hear what's going on.

"Certainly not your fault - this one is all Kang. He's been planning this for, well, years, in a subjective sense. Raiding realities very similar to this one to test their Avengers and customize himself for the roster. However, two of you weren't supposed to be here today, in a chronal sense, which kept him from killing you all and starting his bid for conquest... however, with Sarah out of time, no one could have predicted he'd encounter the Tallus. Which... well, that device makes the chronal information base of the entire Kang collective look like tinker toys... why conquer one reality when you know the buttons to push to destabilize dozens at a time. He can unravel this entire reality without ever having to set foot in it again... and unfortunately, the Exiles have work to do elsewhere, to keep the same from happening to a few hundred more worlds... but they need to go further up the timestream... which means they need some deputies to go after Kang and make some repairs."

The Timebroker watches all of this with a bemused expression. "This is all very touching, but technically, the Rogers boy was right. You /can't/ all go. See, there's a limit how many people can be pulled out of this reality without disrupting it rather badly. Sarah there needs to get back to work, or I'd send all of you with a veteran at this, but I'm afraid it really can't wait. And because she has become a complete temporal pain in the ass, those closest to Anya Stark can't go either... she has, unintentionally, almost destroyed this reality twice now - so try and keep her out of trouble, ok? However..." he points to Svalin, Vernique and Charlie. "All of you are going to be necessary... Mr. Spector has nothing requiring his presence here, and the two Eternals who have kept themselves somewhat more distant than some... that should do nicely. Do try not to screw up... there's about two dozen realities attached to this one. If it goes under, its going to take them all with it. And for the travelers... I really must recommend taking a muffin. The food is terrible where you're going."

Kang the Conqueror? The Time-Broker?

The names around here didn't seem to stop with the pretension, but Eli is worried less about that that what Kang will do if not stopped. Who knows what this man is capable of if allowed to run unchecked.

Besides, he has another motive for going.

"Kang raised hands against the Eternals and my new-found friends. I will answer for Polaria on this slight and accompany all of you on this journey." Eli says.
