Checking on the home team
Commander Fontaine, Deputy Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., made the rounds when the special ops team came back in. After their last disastrous outing, she wanted to make sure they were still in one cohesive piece. The reports had been favorable.

She hadn't met the newest member yet, though she knew the contents of his file. She'd been the one to have it sent to Sammy for consideration. Her little gun nut, and Walker and Dugan, could always use someone with the ability to build a better gun.

Sammy's report had been terse but informative. The others' a little more informative. Landon was next on her list.

	Sammy didn't need a lot of chatter while she drove, so Jason working on his phone didn't bother her. She turned on the radio to find a news station and dialed the volume down so it didn't interrupt Jason. An hour into their drive, she saw a sign for gas and services. "Hungry or thirsty? 	Peach tea. Well, it was the South. She wanted coffee, but mentioning the obvious would only make him smile. "Aye aye, Cap'n," she quipped and took the off ramp into a rest area with services. She pulled up next to a pump and got out. "Behave yourself," she teased. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Who me? Come on, Sammy? Why would I do a thing like that?" he asks with a grin.

He goes to the restroom, then washes his hands and heads into the store. He procures his peach tea, then looks around for...yes, there it is.

He smiles and purchases his items, getting a small bag for them and heading back to the car while Sammy pumps gas.

When she gets back inside, she'll find a red rose with a miniature teddy bear attached on the driver's seat.

Jason will simply drink his peach tea and work on his phone.

Sammy finished with the pump and headed inside for coffee. Unfortunately, the attendant was just starting a new pot and she wanted to get back on the road. She settled for a soda and went back out to the car.

The miniature teddy bear stared up at her when she opened the door. With a small smile, she picked it and the rose up before settling into the seat. "Thank you," she murmured to Jason.

She pulled the rose from its place in the cup holder to smell it. It had been months since she'd received flowers, and now twice in a few days. "I can only give you and the others all the information I have to make sure we come back alive."

Of course, he wouldn't. He was a budding S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent and THE Mad Scientist. There was no interrogator who could crack him, not even Sammy Fury.

The idea of her trying held promise, though.

"Well, I would use my hands to distract you from doing so." Jason fires back.
