Atlantis - The Last Stand
Mason was wearing two parkas as he and Marrina waited at the set coordinates on the Nova Scotia shoreline. An official envoy from Atlantis was supposed to pick them up here. He was holding her hand, and what of his face could be seen between his scarf and his hat looked worried. He nodded to her.

"Just in case I get killed..." He squeezed her hand. "I love you. And you were worth it."

	Among the various patrols around the city domes, there is one that seems to swing out a little wider than it should at one section, coming close to what could be called 'slums' by surface standards. A nearby embankment also seems to hold a number of caves, one of which has a power line running into it. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The powerline seems definitely the thing to follow. There's a light purple discoloration in the embankment as Mel sinks in and starts to spread. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The cave extends back about a hundred yards, to where the power cord feeds into a device creating a hydrostatic membrane, keeping a portion of the cave empty of water. Madison and Lillian are kept there, breathing tanks affixed to them and apparently keeping them under sedation. More than a dozen armed guards are present. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Mel tries to spread herself throughout the side of the cave, enough to leave purple at the opening and indicate to Jordan that they've found them, and still have a morphogenic 'foothold' near the Jeffrieses, closer and closer. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	There's a shriek from the guard as he's grabbed, two others dropping their melee weapons and producing blasters, firing through the membrane. The remainder of the guards back up, forming a wall between the cave entrance and the prisoners, their backs still to them. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	And the rock floor of the cave becomes a more concentrated purple and just a little uneven, as the Jeffrieses slide where Alex will be able to grab them more easily. The bright purple signal to Jordan has been made. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The shift in the cave floor alarms the other guards, some of which turn and open fire on the purple areas of the rock. The remainder of the guards fan out and charge Alex. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Alex was going to stick with incapacitating the Atlanteans, but when he saw them firing at Mel, that plan went out the window. Leviathan-Alex roared and ferociously attacked the Atlanteans, going for the kill. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The purple stone is crackled and shattered in places, and a streak of fear and pain haunts the ambiance of the cave as Mel's head and arms come out enough to hold on to the Jeffries as Alex fights. Oh, and, admittedly, scream. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Some of the guards are shaken by the sight, as others still try to deal with the monstrous creature thinning their ranks. A few even dive through the membrane, hell-bent on getting past Alex. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Alex heard Mel screamed and was /worried/. He increased the intensity of his attacks and was no longer concerned about hurting these guys or killing them. Nothing would keep him from helping Mel. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Something is obviously wrong. They were supposed to go in stealthily - then signal him when they needed a distraction. What happened in there?
He has full underwater gear, and is able to move at a pretty good clip along the floor, too dense to swim without a good deal of effort.

At the sight of running guards, Jordan emerges from hiding and goes rushing towards the cave, crashing into the onrush of soldiers as needed.

	Jordan hasn't seen Mel yet, he just knows this went terribly, terribly wrong somehow. He lifts one of the guards by the throat, wounds or no. "You will direct me to Mason Jeffries' challenge, now. 	The warrior grabs at Jordan's hand, trying to squirm free. "We are acting on authority of Atlantis in sequestering these spies. You have no right to interfere."
