Taking a Stand
The world of mortals was still alien to Kael. He wondered just how much longer he would have to stay here. Had his mother found any clue as to those who had created the shadow army that attacked Asgard? If not, then how long would it take? It wasn't as if it was all bad here. The Defenders were good people. Svalin was at least being more tolerant of him. Haljborn tended to be at least partially hostile most of the time. Vernique,, He turns slightly to the small woman holding her Asgardian son. He was fond of the woman. But still.. what was he doing here?

	Dr. Demasi started examining her newest patient. She glanced over at Vernique for a second. "She's stable," she assured Vernique. "I'm keeping her sedated for awhile. 	"Nnngh," Svalin groaned as she struggled to open her eyes. The sedatives Dr. Demasi had given her had lost the battle against Asgardian physiology. For a second she wondered what happen and then it all came rushing back. The fight. The woman touching her hand and eventually Hal taking off her arm. Then the blackness. 	I think Hal's pretty okay, all things considered. I was out shopping with Kael and Solver when we got jumped. Solver and I are fine, Kael held them off , but he hasn't broken up yet."
