Frisco Blues (Titans)
It started as any other morning in San Francisco. The sun came up in the East and people climbed from the beds to start their day.

The Titans in Titans Tower were starting their day. Their new sister team from the East were visiting for a meeting to discuss the current situation. While they were inside making plans, the waters of the Pacific started to churn. Waves kicked up and dark clouds blocked out the light of the sun.

The water quickly pulled back from the shore and things were calm for the briefest of moments. Then a huge tsunami crashed ashore and water flooded the lower half of the city.

	Cait felt the blasts go through her body, but they did not hurt and they did not kill her. The wounds immediately started to 'heal'. Ice spears shot up out of the water and headed straight for Dinah. The water tentacles squeezed their victims even tighter. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	"I need more long distance offensive weapons!" Eli snarls, trying to pull out of the constricting tentacles. With a wild swing he cuts through the water, the flame of his sword hissing steam everywhere. It doesn't go out. Holy flame is good for that. Cait turned the water in Eli's wings to ice and started to flying toward him. She pulled water up from the ground and encased his legs, turning to ice a moment later.

Now that she was closer to the ground she could feel the water in individual bodies.

"Die and find peace," she said and stopped the blood flow in their bodies.

A look of shock passed over their faces for a brief moment before they died. More to join the army of undead.

"Now you. Even angels can die."

What Eli says in return isn't really printable. He picked up some fantastic language from folks like Lobo and Guy Gardner. Suffice it to say, it's rude, involves several biological impossibilities and would cause him to be censored by most TV and Radio networks.

His arms were still free, which was important, because they held the great big flaming sword. He started cracking at his legs, because he could sort of glide even with his wings crusted.

"They even come back to life."

	Memories of when he was eleven are coming back. They weren't fun. They weren't pretty. He doesn't want to do that again. "Can't. Won't." 	Cait watched her hand and most of her arm get cut off, but there wasn't pain. Her control was momentarily broken. Blood started flowing again. "Your pretty sword won't save you," she said and once again stopped his blood flowing. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Watching the arm fall, Eli starts to laugh some more. It's hard. His breath is icy. He can't loosen his grip on his sword, it's frozen and yet not at the same time. There's a flash of indigo light as Pippi lands on the scene, Dingo's mask on her head, a hockey mask over it, skirt ripped, an empty shotgun in one hand, and a running, gore-covered chainsaw in the other hand.

She does a triple flip with a twist before landing, striking a dramatic Buffy pose.

Then comes the dramatic, heroic catchphrase.

"I have a chainsaw."

Profound.

	Pippi's sudden appearance distracts Cait long enough for Eli's blood to start flowing again. "The one who doesn't know penguins are birds," Cait snarled. "So eager to die." Cait brought a water tentacle up and wrapped it around Eli. "I'll get back to you in a moment." She brought a water whip up and the end snapped at the hand holding the chainsaw. The water snags the chainsaw, tossing it across the building away from Pippi. The shotgun is empty, only one thing to do.

She springs at Cait, landing in front of her, ready to attack.

Which, this being Pippi, is not actually what she does. Instead, she gives the black lantern a hug.

"This has something to do with your drinking problem, doesn't it? We'll help you get through this."

Pippi's shield flares up, and she ends up going staggering back.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa... I know you might have funny ideas cause I don't date guys, but I don't date girls either."

She pauses, covering her chest.

"I don't think that time in the mattress store counted. Maybe it did. Or, you know, that time clubbing. It was just so Brandy could win a bet. You don't suppose that's why I can't get a unicorn, do you? Cause that totally shouldn't count."

	Pippi staggers, the indigo light protecting her somewhat - but not perfectly. As she feels this new dizziness and pain, tears spring to her eyes, her lip wibbling. "Cait... no... no. It feels like the blood is going to his head, and he's not even upside down. Still he's managed to finally wiggle free and swings a clumsy stroke at Cait, going for her other hand. Eli's sword came down, but it didn't hit her hand. It cut between her neck and shoulder and sliced down into her chest. She didn't scream or yell. She just looked down at the sword buried in her chest.

She put more oomph into her powers and their blood slowed even more.

Pippi's lip wibbles harder, practically on a professional level. The tears are welling up.

"How... how can you say that? Princessing is...is... the second awesomest thing after riding a unicorn."

She has to face it. Cait is evil. Her hands shake, the indigo light fading as she faces the horror of her worldview shattering - the princess isn't the heroine.

"B...b...before you kill us... you forgot....forgot two things."

	If Eli had the time to spare for the attention, he would have called that cruel and unusual punishment. Instead he flapped back hard, creating a buffeting wind as he yanked the sword free. The flames flickered and spat angrily as if they personally disliked the zombie Cait. The few times Eli had seen the sword do that usually involved demons. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

This time, it was Eli who bought Pippi some time. The flare of fire distracted Cait's vision just long enough for Pippi to get a hand dragging something back over to her - a helpful rotweiler just happening to decide that weapon fetch is a good game mid-battle.

As Pippi speaks, her powers sensing the imminent danger, and feeling the city needing her help, the Indigo light flares.

"You should be...
One... I have a chainsaw."
she snarls as she does the world's first standing 720 pirouette with a running chainsaw, finishing Eli's work and taking the zombie's head off on the second spin.

"Two...penguins are MAMMALS, you ungrateful bitch."

Do not mess with Pippi's worldview.
