Checking on the home team
Commander Fontaine, Deputy Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., made the rounds when the special ops team came back in. After their last disastrous outing, she wanted to make sure they were still in one cohesive piece. The reports had been favorable.

She hadn't met the newest member yet, though she knew the contents of his file. She'd been the one to have it sent to Sammy for consideration. Her little gun nut, and Walker and Dugan, could always use someone with the ability to build a better gun.

Sammy's report had been terse but informative. The others' a little more informative. Landon was next on her list.

	She grinned. The smarter they were, the more they needed to play. It was an idea she could get behind. "That's quite a list. I don't get Lost either. I tried to watch it, but I didn't get past the first season. It makes no sense. Although, I can see the appeal of a desert island for a couple of weeks' peace and quiet." I usually get one with the Russian grand duke, but only because I once made him eat a bug and he likes to tell the story." Sammy shook her head. "It's mostly a see and be seen thing. I get a new dress, borrow some jewelry from Mom, and I buy the toys for the 'Toys for Tots' drive."

	Sammy didn't need a lot of chatter while she drove, so Jason working on his phone didn't bother her. She turned on the radio to find a news station and dialed the volume down so it didn't interrupt Jason. An hour into their drive, she saw a sign for gas and services. "Hungry or thirsty?
