Let Loose the Dogs of War!
Plans had been made, maps studied, the situation read as best it could be. There was no more time for talk. The Mothership would be leaving by the next day. If the aliens who had stolen this world were not defeated now, it wasn't likely they ever would be.

But these aliens had never faced people with the kinds of powers that the Avengers possessed. The paltry number of defenders the planet Earth had had when they had arrived had died easily. And this world possessed no Inhumans, no Eternals, no Deviants. No one would or could fight back on the scale needed.

But the time of domination was over.

Power Plant

Before the kid had shown up, Ken Hale was pretty sure he'd been the last "super-hero" on the planet. The aliens had killed Jimmy and Bob and Venus, blown-up the robot. The Torch, Toro, and the Sub-Mariner had gone missing. And whoever that Cap and Bucky had been, they hadn't been the real deal.

He'd been fighting the aliens for years, but even with weapons and training, they didn't have the raw power needed to topple an army like that.

Now, in captured transports, with forty good men and woman at his command, along with the armored girl Barton had brought back with him, they were going to knock the defense grid out of line and take it down.

"You ready for this, girly?"

This mission required less manpower, but was no less important. Countless innocent lives were being held in the massive alien slavepit, covering much of what had once been Brooklyn.

Col. Sean Morgan led his team, which included the Avengers from the other world, through the sewers beneath the Pit, their hastily cobbled together sensor-scramblers holding for now.

He stopped. "There," he said, pointing up. "We've found our entry point."

	Mac had filled his Xandarian spacesuit with a little water to keep himself in top form. /Ready,/ he answers her as he hurls himself at high speed toward one of the fighters that Kal's not handling, to grab hold of one of the nacelles and swing it towards another pair of fighters. 	All across the planet, the Malacandrans were being pushed back, taken down, or otherwise dealt with. By the time morning came, Earth would be a free planet, no questions asked. 	Anya was glad the aliens had been defeated. She borrowed some clothes from one of the people and removed her armor. She gave it to a young woman who was a technopath and could repair it if needed. She was also happy to be with Steve. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Steve had spent quite a lot of time saying his good-byes to people. He'd come to know and depend upon each and every person here, and they him. Was it fair to just cut and run, now that he had the chance? Or had he interfered enough in this world? It was a tough question to ponder, especially in the presence of the girl he left behind. 	Justin was glad to help, but the Victory Celebration was a bit much for him, and he was very winded from all the work they'd done, now that the adrenaline had worn off. He takes a seat in a corner and tries to rest in order to be ready for the trip home. (Reply to this)(Parent)
