7:00 - 9:00 PM

Party is getting started! People are arriving! No one is throwing up yet!

Adelaide/Open

Adelaide stalked her way through the woods to the clearing, feeling a bit like a criminal. It wasn't so much that she was doing anything wrong, simply that she looked like a terrible pickpocket, looking around to make sure she wasn't being followed. With that stupid behavioural probation over her head, she really didn't want any teachers crashing Charlie's party-- it might be the only chance she got in a while to have some fun.

She spotted Charlie in the clearing quite easily; he'd made it big enough so that if the party got wild everyone would still fit. "Hey gramps!" She bapped the end of his cigarette with the envelope she was holding. "Sorry," she said, meaning the lame gift. "When it comes to presents, I blow."

Adelaide/Charlie

Charlie had been about to thank Adelaide, or say hello or something, but just ended up blinking and processing what she had just said. "What? You do what?" he asked slowly, registering the gift and taking it. "Shit, you didn't have to" he muttered, grinning and ripping the envelope open. Reading the IOU, not really getting it he just laughed, tucking it into his pocket.

"Thanks" he added, stubbing the cigarette out and motioning to his array of party items. "Drink? Smoke? I'd offer you a firework but I'm waiting til it gets dark, you know?"

Re: Adelaide/Charlie

"I said I bl-- hey, fuck you!" She grinned and punched his arm, plopping down on to the log next to him. "You should have thought of that before you invited everybody, huh?" She teased. They weren't that good friends.

"Waiting 'til dark sounds like a good idea. Until then, though..." She eyed the cannabis vodka suspiciously. "Maybe a beer."

Adelaide/Charlie

"Shit, just my luck" he teased, raising an eyebrow and smirking slightly. He knew Ade well enough that it wasn't awkward when they talked, slightly better than small talk but not exactly buddies, either way he liked her.

He reached for a beer bottle, the keg could wait until everyone was liquored up enough not to notice just how shitty it was, opening the cap on the log and passing it to her.

"Enjoying the first week back?" It was a question said with obvious sarcasm.

Re: Adelaide/Charlie

She raised a cynical brow. "World's fastest detention... yeah. Great week." She tipped the bottle towards him in a little toast. "Yay weekend! And a famous Charlieparty to kick it off."

Jenny/Charlie

Jenny had no intention of staying late, and she didn't plan to show up late either. She was one of the first ten or so people to trickle into the clearing. She glanced around to see who was there, other than Charlie, someone to kill some time with. She didn't want to just run up and hand him a present right away, she'd look desperate, not to mention stupid. She had already felt stupid enough lately with everything with Sera, and that was bad enough. She'd even found herself looking around for Quinn, which was a whole other can of worms so to speak.

But pushing those problems away, Jenny took a deep breath, trying to pump herself up for the night. If she came, she might as well have fun with it. Probably Ella would show up later, she wouldn't miss a party, and then Jenny figured she could just align herself with her sister's side for the remainder of the night.. or hopefully so.

Finally giving up on appearing casual and nonchalant, the blonde shifted the paper bag she was holding in her arms, noticing that Charlie was alone for a moment, no longer distracted with greeting party arrivals. She sighed gently, moving her way over, weaving past a group of girls splitting up a case of beer. She held the bag out to Charlie when she reached him, a dismissive look on her face with a hint of a smile. She held the bag as if it were paining her to do so, nudging it at him.

"Here, happy birthday," she said simply.

Jenny/Charlie

Charlie grinned as he saw Jenny, taking the bag off her and peering inside curiously. "I'm glad you came, Princess. What's this though" he teased, reaching into the bag and smiling as he took out each item. Until, that is, he got to the Madonna CD. He shook his head, but laughed anyway.

"Will you ever change?" he asked, flipping the CD over to read the back skeptically.

Jenny/Charlie

"Would you like me to change?" Jenny replied quickly, fixing him with a faint little smile. She had felt cold when walking up to him, stern, just ready to get him over with. But it amazed her how his smile always managed to break down any tough exterior she was faking. It had worked during their whole relationship, and it still worked now.

"I figured you could use something good and feminine to listen to in that sausagefest you call musical taste."

Jenny/Charlie

"Never" he said, a little less playfully, shrugging one shoulder.

He looked a little hurt at her comment about his music, pouting slightly he tried to defend himself. "I listen to women. Janis Joplin was a girl, right?"

Jenny/Charlie

Jenny couldn't help but smile, shaking her head a little at him. "Yes, but she was like.. one of the only cool things you ever played in your whole car," she reminded him, sticking her tongue out a little.

"Seriously though, your musical adventures were so much diverse when I drove with you."

Keegan/Charlie

Normally, Keegan was on time. He prided himself on that fact. Normally. This time, however, it just didn't work out that way. Not when he spent far too long looking for something to throw Charlie's present into. Once he succeeded in finding the bag, he headed out to the party.

By the time he arrived, it was a little past eight, but hey. He was there. Keegan took a drag from his freshly lit cigarette as he took a look around for Charlie, noting who was already there. When he found the senior, he headed right over to him to deliver the present

Keegan/Charlie

Charlie had been listening to a Freshman girl talking about her summer, something pretty boring about Vermont, and managed to excuse himself with the excuse of needing more beer when he saw Keegan heading in his direction.

"Hey man, you came" he said, hitting Keegan lightly on the shoulder and grinning. "How the fuck are you?"

Keegan/Charlie

He was happy to see that Charlie broke off from his current conversation and headed over his way. Not for the attention, but more for the fact he didn't have to wait in line to talk to the birthday boy. A grin spread over his face as took the greeting to the shoulder. "Of course I made it, dude. Why would I ever miss a party, especially one of yours?"

"I'm good. I'll be a lot better by the end of the evening I imagine. I suspect you're doing well yourself," Keegan paused and held up the black back, almost waving it teasingly around. "Happy Birthday."

Keegan/Charlie

"I'm on my way to doing well" Charlie answered, shaking his almost empty bottle and eyeing a few girls who had made it already.

When Keegan brought his attention to the package, Charlie grinned and followed it with his eyes. "Aw shit, thanks man. What is it?"

Keegan/Charlie

"On your way still counts," he agreed with a nod and his gaze found the area where the drinks were currently set up. He'd be on his own way soon enough.

"A shirt I hope that fits and cards. You want to know exactly," Keegan shot Charlie a grin before he stuck his hands into his pockets, "Open it and find out."

Casey/Open

Casey usually didn't do parties. Not unless they were in the dorms with plenty of food, Mountain Dew, and some sort of video game spree. Those barely even counted as parties to begin with. Family parties didn't count either. But, there he was, at a real party held by a fellow student.

The only real reason he was there was due to the fact that he had promised his mother he would try to be more social, and that there were certain other friends of his that kept urging him to get out once in a while. So when he heard about an open party, he decided to give it a shot.

Casey took a look around at who was there so far and he had even made sure to show up a little late so he didn't have to deal with the awkward feeling of being one of a handful. Especially since he sort of stayed towards the outskirts of the people for the moment, trying to remember how to act like a relatively normal person and less of a shut-in.

Casey/Shelby

Shelby's blood sugars had been running a little low for the most part of the day but after devouring a half a bag of chips he was feeling a lot better and was definitely in the mood to party. He threw on an outfit and grabbed his party essentials from the drawer next to his bed and stuffed them in his pocket, including his new cherry papers which he had been dying to try out.

Arriving at the party a little late himself, Shelby looked around to see who was all there already before taking out his first joint of the evening. He placed it in his mouth briefly to baptize it and reached into his pocket for his lighter, ruffling around in there for a few minutes before he finally found it.

Just as he was lighting up he noticed a friend of his off to the side of the party a little. Shelby didn't expect to him there but he walked over towards him anyway. "Hey Dude! What's happening??" He yelled over to Casey, taking another drag off his joint.

Casey/Shelby

Casey was watching a couple girls off to the side, giggling over at the table. He didn't know what year they were, only that they were planning to get incredibly drunk by the way they were ogling the alcohol that decorated the table. He just figured that was pretty normal.

Hearing his name, he turned towards the source with a curious look. Seeing Shelby, Casey grinned and gave his friend a little wave. "Not much, just got here. What about you? What's up?"

Casey/Shelby

Shelby was making his way over towards Casey at a pretty lazy pace, he was excited to talk to his buddy he just didn't have a lot of energy to spare at the moment. "Same basically" Shelby laughed back taking another puff, finally nearly in front of Casey. "Just chillin', checkin' out the ladies you know same ol' same ol'" Shelby joked again.

"Hey you want some of this?" Shelby asked, holding out his hand to Casey. It'd be rude not to ask, right?

Casey/Shelby

"Yea, sure. Same old," Casey said with a small laugh and took a brief glance around. The girls in attendance were the least of his worries really. It was the crowd on a whole.

He turned to Shelby's offer, and actually looked at it for a moment in contemplation. On one hand, he heard it was relaxing and Shelby certainly looked relaxed. On the other, he'd never done such a thing and would probably look like a fool. "Nah man," he answered, "I'm all set. Thanks, though."

Rowan/Open

Rowan was fairly on time to this thing, arriving at around 7:30. She had hung around the periphery for a while, getting accustomed to the layout of the party, and looking around for people she knew. Charlie was in a conversation, but there were other people milling about. She decided to go make herself a drink while everything was still available to choose from and people watch for a bit. Hand on her bag she stood and sipped at her drink, eyes on her surroundings and the people around her.

After a while, she saw people as they arrived, but made no move to immediately go talk to people. No one liked to be attacked right when they got to a party. Or so she thought. There was no experience that she really had to compare this too, having not been to many parties yet. She felt that would change at some point soon though. Finding her drink to be empty - and glad she had poured light - she made her way back to the refreshment table to get herself a refill.

Rowan/Meka

Meka had been at the party for a pretty long time. She was well buzzed and well on her way to drunk. After lighting a cigarette and walking around for a bit she spotted a familiar face. She stubbed out her cigarette and tucked it into her pack for later. She approached Rowan after swigging from her flask and grinned. "Hey girl hey!" she laughed brightly.

Rowan/Meka

Rowan giggled at Meka's welcoming words. Her best friend was always one to make her smile, and this time was no exception. There was a huge smile on her face as she responded with an ironic sounding "HAAAY." Things like that always sounded so ridiculous to Rowan, but it was fun sometimes.

"So how are things?" Rowan sipped her drink and grinned at Meka. "Anything new in the life of Meka?"

Rowan/Meka

Meka giggled, they sounded so ridiculous in their greetings. She loved it. "Things are alright, no! They're better than alright! They're awesome!"

"Nothin new though," she grinned. "What about you?"
