The Darkheart

(Timebendyed so anyone can be involved)

Jerry had heard that there was suppose to be an amazing meteor shower tonight and the best place to see it was in the Arches National Park in Utah. He had let dad knew he was going to spend the night there which his dad was totally fine with.

After teleporting in with some basic supplies he started looking for a good place to watch it from. Teleporting around the park he saw a mesa that looked like he could get a great view from. He snapped his fingers and appeared in a flash of green at the top of the mesa.

What he saw up there was something that he Jerry Carr had trouble believing. There was a organic looking machine with little robotic drones eating the rocks. And one charged right at him.

Quickly snapping both hands he teleported away and teleported a boulder right on top of the drone crushing it. Jerry let out a sigh of relief until he noticed that the drones were now eating the boulder and forming even more drones.

This was bad and Jerry knew he could not handle this by himself and felt that it would be smart to call in as much help as he could.

Teleporting back to his stuff away from the mesa he grabbed his cell phone and started calling all of the people he knew who were superheroes to get as much help as he could.

The Trench

Lian had asked Calypso to make a trench, and that was just what she was going to try to do. Calypso put all her focus in her terrakinesis, and exerted her will onto the land. And what she managed to do was create a deep trench surrounding the mechanical army. In return, she was left weak and out of the fight. She fell over, exhausted from over-exerting herself. "I... can't take part in this fight."

"You underestimate yourself," J'anna said calmly, touching Terra's temple. "You will find your strength from in here. Be patient."

J'anna smiled a moment, then grew serious.

"I think for our benefit I should assume my true form for this fight."

Lian nodded, "We've got your back," she said to Calypso, "You hang back, and we'll keep an eye out for you. It's what teams do."

She turned to J'anna. "Do what you feel is best. Though at the moment, I agree that probably is the best thing."

Will, upon receiving the news from Mikey, looks at the trench that was just created. it was really really deep, he could give Terra that much, but the Wisdom of Socrates kept nagging at him. The way that the thing on the mesa was growing, the amount of mass it ate.

It all said one thing: It wouldn't be enough.

"Thank you so much, Terra. You did a lot, but Socrates is telling me even that much won't be enough. Rest here, I have an idea," Will says to Terra, giving the girl a smile he hoped would be comforting. But his mind was on the plan. His eyes dart to the group, and he begins pointing off.

"One." The finger is on himself.

"Two." The finger goes to Jon.

"Three." The finger then points at the new JSA recruit.

"Four." The Finger is now on Steven.

"Five. Six." The fingers go to the West twins.

"All right. Terra did a good job, but its not gonna be enough. With myself, our speedsters, and our kryptonians, I think we can make it bigger. What do you guys think?"

"Not a bad thought. Let's get to work." Jon says, even as he does just that.

Once upon a time, Saturday morning cartoons about super heroes taught kids that the solution to many problems was spinning around and around fast enough. It rarely made sense.

Now though?

Steven begins digging the trench deeper and wider, mostly by racing around it like a track, kicking out a rooster tail of dirt out from the bottom to the ground around.

Jai catches Steven's intent and decides to aid him with the trench at super-speed.

Iris followed Steven and her brother's lead, running with them at super-speed to make the trench bigger.

J'anna's human form vanishes and in its place is a fearsome, disturbing-looking, well, Martain. Her telepathy expands, linking each of the trench-workers together so they work like a machine.

There is no though or conciousnous behind the machines only a simple programing which they follow to the letter.

Will soon dived in himself, following the speedsters and Jon into the trench. With J'annas help, they were a well oiled machine, clearing the trench of excess debris and making it deeper.

Still, this was just a stop-gap. They needed a permanent solution.

Robin assessed the debris.

"Perhaps we can utilize the debris as well." She couldn't dig but there had to be a way to fashion the debris into another form of weapon or protection.
