Frisco Blues (Titans)
It started as any other morning in San Francisco. The sun came up in the East and people climbed from the beds to start their day.

The Titans in Titans Tower were starting their day. Their new sister team from the East were visiting for a meeting to discuss the current situation. While they were inside making plans, the waters of the Pacific started to churn. Waves kicked up and dark clouds blocked out the light of the sun.

The water quickly pulled back from the shore and things were calm for the briefest of moments. Then a huge tsunami crashed ashore and water flooded the lower half of the city.

Cait flew next to Ty. Funny how death got her over her dislike of flying. There was no sickness or uneasiness.

They approached San Francisco from the east. Water filled the streets and Cait smiled. Together she and Ty had called up a tsunami and flooded the lower half of the city. The Cait called in the dead sea life.

Death had come to the Bay City in more ways than one.

The Scarab was practically screaming in Dinah's head. Something about this whole situation had set it off, put it on edge like she hadn't seen before. But it wasn't making much sense either...

"Wait... Magnification 50%..."

She looked into the distance and stopped where she was in the air. "That's... that's Ty... and... Cait?"

She switched to the comm system. "Guys... we've got problems."

Five giant, tank-sized hornets manifest around Ty and jab at him with their stingers. Meanwhile, Steve rises into the air on the back of a newly manifested griffin.

As the hornets are about to sting, Ty disappears, reappearing in a flash of magic light behind Steve/Trigon before firing blasts of yellow and violet light.

"But I can feel your rage and will from here. Tasty, tasty. And your host... poor kid. Tilting at windmills, selling his soul to hold off the inevitable a few moments longer. You'll both know peace, soon enough."

Cait felt the blasts go through her body, but they did not hurt and they did not kill her. The wounds immediately started to 'heal'.

Ice spears shot up out of the water and headed straight for Dinah.

The water tentacles squeezed their victims even tighter.

"I need more long distance offensive weapons!" Eli snarls, trying to pull out of the constricting tentacles.

With a wild swing he cuts through the water, the flame of his sword hissing steam everywhere. It doesn't go out. Holy flame is good for that.

However, free, he starts to drop, wings currently a bit too water loaded to hold him aloft.

"Fuck".

Jarrod knew what he needed to do after teleporting free of the water tentacle that had grabbed him which had taken a lot of work, he teleported to Iris. He knew Iris would be important to all of this though why he hadn’t gotten to that part yet.

The will radiating from her son drew out one of the deadliest of the Black Lanterns.

Shiva was always drawn to those with strong will.

She landed in front of him, bowing before motioning for him to make the first move.

Pippi is still doing her best to play rescuer, not even realizing just how much she's actually doing as every possible coincidence that could happen to save lives and prevent injury around her does. The longer she works at it, the more and more of her legion of trained rescue animals go to work in surprising unison without her even actively trying to direct it - all she's truly aware of is that she's healing people - and its coming really easy to her, even the near dead suddenly whole again.

What she's also not aware of, however, is that throughout it all, she's a bright, blazing indigo light in the darkness, drawing the eyes of any number of the zombies like moths to a flame of raw COMPASSION!!!.

In-spite of the rather impressive amount of work she had done saving people some people simple were too far away or had had the misfortune of running into a black lantern. This meant that there was a growing population a civilian Black Lanterns roaming around the street being drawn towards the source of great compassion like moths to a flame and they wanted to put that light out.

There's a splash near Ty. He turns, startled, crouching to lift up... whatever it was.

His girlfriend's head.

"No... no...gods...no." his hands shake. Ruth has to support him for all she's worth - but a manifestation doesn't quite happen, but its that close.

"I...Cait... I failed you once. I won't fail you again. If I can't save you... I'll make sure you rest."

A hand moves, and some of the water rises. Another movement, her body flies off the roof and drops to hover just next to him. Placing the head and the body almost together, water begins to weave around her, until Cait looks like she's preserved in a snowglobe, perfect and unmoving.

With a moment's more focus, he locks it into near stasis, slowing the bubble down to one-ten-millionth time.

"Iris..." he says quietly.

"They're playing with us. They have Superman, Doomsday, more Titans... they could kill us... but they want to kill our hopes, make us fear... they've all but destroyed the lantern batteries... we can't get to the white light... my dad is coming. We need to run. Find the others... before they quit playing."
