To tell the truth, it hurt my pride: the 'groom' was prettier than the bride.
She'd never really pictured this happening. Of course, she'd married off her dolls as a girl, but the idea of her wedding had always brought with it the idea of really settling down with one guy, which had never been much on her agenda. This, of course, was different. This was Svalin. And she loved Svalin, and honestly wanted to be there for her and be a family with her. And while there would be sacrifices involved, it wasn't the same as Really Settling Down. A platonic marriage that still came with a fancy party. Nothing wrong with that!

Her parents had been brought up to Asgard, along with the Avengers and the Defenders.

The first royal wedding in a generation was the Event of the Season, with quite a bit of bustle about it.

...And the dress was going to be perfect.

But first, Spa day with Mom and the Mothers-in-law --two of them. Oh gosh.

She hoped Svalin was okay.

Svalin had the daunting task of reciting /all/ of the family's noble deeds to the satisfaction of her father and grandfather. Normally this wouldn't be so bad, but considering her family and its history, well she would rather go face Kang in one to one combat.

There may have been a few bumps along the way, but she did remember the names of all the numerous Frost Giants her grandfather and father slayed over the years. Then there was all of her father's deeds as an Avenger. Her brain hurt at the end of it. Fighting a dragon was easier than this.

Sif had been looking forward to the wedding since Svalin and Vernique had asked for permission to marry. Though she did have to admit that she was a little surprised it was Svalin. Sif would have thought it would have been any of her other daughters but Svalin. Not to mention there was a grandchild on the way.

There was a lot to do and Sif gladly assisted her wife with any of the preparations.

The day before the wedding would be spent with her wife, her future daughter-in-law and long time friend Janet Van Dyne. Sif wasn't exactly one for being pampered on a regular basis, but once in awhile was okay.

"More mead?" she offered the others.

	Its not like Halbjorn to be quiet for this long, but for this occasion, he holds his spot, protecting both bride and... bride/groom as the chosen best man, and holds his tongue. He'll do his share of talking later when he has to brag about his sister. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Svalin smiled and took the cup of mead. She held it aloft. "To the All-Father," she said toasting her grandfather as was tradition. Svalin took a drink from the cup and passed it to Vernique for her to drink from it. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Svalin moved around the Great Hall and mingled, as those from Migard called it. The hall was filled with music, laughter and smiles. It was what Asgard needed after the battle it had recently seen. She continued to make her way through the guests. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	Marlow had been handed a large cup of something that tasted sweet and cool as she wound her way through the guests. Every so often she danced a few steps and made a little twirl. It was her first taste of mead and the alcohol was making its way straight to her head. She smiled when she saw Svalin. "Congratulations, Svalin. I hope you'll be very happy." 	Vernique loved all of it. Especially the brooches. She knew she could rock the brooch-wearing Asgardian matron look. She accepted the shield solemnly with thanks to Sif. She didn't want to think of Svalin on it, but this was Svalin's world, and this was how it worked. Cooing gratefully over the dresses and jewelry was a lot easier. (Reply to this)(Parent)
