Big Damn Heroes
Abel dropped them out of a space warp as close to Earth as possible. The ship shook as it entered the upper atmosphere and the hull started to heat up and started to glow red. Azura helped Alex pilot the ship through the turbulence. She hoped the rust bucket held together.

Once they were past the initial barrier and slowed down a bit, they set a course straight for Xavier's. They ignored hails from local enforcement agencies and continued on their way. Their passenger, the Shi'ar, had been antsy during the whole trip and seemed a little relieved once they arrived. It didn't last long and he fretted until they arrived over Xavier's.

Their timing was perfect. They arrived just in time to see the Imperial Guard standing off with the X-Men and Prince Starbridge. Azura shoved their Shi'ar guest into her seat and ordered him to take over. She grabbed her gun and Godslayer and raced for the hatch.

Alex gave the flying of the ship to their guest and raced after Azura. Once they were low enough the Guardians of the Galaxy exited the ship to help Prince Starbridge and the X-Men.

"Ride, keep our friend here strapped into his harness. I don't need any civilians running wild in the middle of an extraction." Right now, Alex didn't trust the Imperial Guard as far as he could throw them, and he knew that wasn't very far from firsthand experience.

"Fan out and keep the Guard busy, but no lethal force, even if you're capable of it. Iason, I want you overhead in case any of them have surprises in store. Hit them hard."

He takes point, leading the team out of the ship, and turning on the loudspeaker on his helmet. "Your Imperial Highness, we're the Guardians of the Galaxy. The good guys, and most likely the only ones besides your native friends here. Come with us now. X-Men, consider yourselves his carry-on. MOVE!" He flexes his TK, a little harder than he really should, to make debris kick up around him. Gravitas is important.

Red pulled out a heavy particle rifle.

"Please to be reaching for the sky, Guards-people! Am not wanting to... okay, am actually wanting to shoot you, but am being asked not to unless absolutely having to!"

"Like Quill said, we're here to help," Eliza says while keeping her hands off her weapons. Batons and guns are strapped to her hips. She's given up on trying to use just her billy clubs.

Seeing Misha she gives him a nod to greet him but little else. They don't have time now.

The flash grenade went off and blinding light blinded the Imperial Guard for a few moments.

A blinded Kallark took the TK hit and barely moved an inch. The plasma hit him and he shrugged it off like one shrugged off a fly.

He could hear shots being fired around him but only a very few hit him. He used his other senses to help him find the enemy.

Yeah, picking a fight with the leader of the Imperial Guard? Probably not the smartest move she could make.

But she'd be damned if she let some mohawked jackbooted stormtrooper lay a hand on Starbridge.

The next blast was stronger, fiery and sparking as she tapped into her reserves of Phoenix power. Never the cosmic threat like her Mom, but enough to, like Big Rae, make her dangerous indeed.

His vision was returning.

"Oh no you don't!" Azura said and raced to intercept him. She may have cheated a bit and used the Time Gem to slow time down for him just enough to allow her to get in front of him.

Xorycaal blinked once at the sudden appearance of the enemy before him, but quickly recovered and launched a barrage of strikes with his claws at the female.

Oxitih catches a burst in the chest, but his armor protects him sufficiently. "Heroes? A quaint concept little one. The galaxy does not work in such simple concepts." Oxitih focuses his power on Red, attempting to lift the weapon from his grip.

Misha engaged the stealth mode on the armor, powered up and charged at the Shiar coming toward the rest of the group. Once out of the others' immediate area, he fired at him. Her. It? Who knew with aliens?

Dimve was already moving before the blast was even fired. A few seconds of pre-cognition was very helpful. It helped her not be where the blast struck.

She threw a small throwing knife at him. She doubted it would get through the armor but it was always worth a shot.

Xana did her best to keep the water from trapping her while she maneuvered around the ice shield. Hydrokinetic energy was still energy. She would use it against the mutant when it was enough to blast her.
